With the end of the ceremony, Wataru found himself fading into the background as the student body slowly poured from the room. He took the chance to study the other JUDGEMENT members, most of whom he had only met once, if at all. The president and his aids seemed professional enough, although each had their own idiosyncrasies that worried him... The half girl pleasantly surprised him however; from his past experience of foreigners within Academy City, he had grown to expect nothing but criminality from them. As his eyes drifted across the assembled students, a few likely examples stood out... Hopefully they wouldn't prove too big an issue, although he reasoned that any trouble they caused would be in the realm of the Student Council rather than JUDGEMENT. Not a thought that alleviated his concerns given their recent 'promotion'. And with all this hawk-eyed observation of his fellow students, Wataru studiously avoided the gaze of his new teachers; that blue one especially unsettled him. The skin was bad enough, but something in her voice had chilled Wataru to the bone... Finally deeming the route sufficiently clear, he headed out to their designated classroom and tried to drown out the leering voices of his new peers as he went. Here and there Wataru spotted other isolated individuals, others who might perhaps share his less-than optimistic outlook on life here at Hybrid Academy, but hung back for the moment. Highest on his priority list was settling down with the rest of the Council and find out just what the fuck was going on in this school. The teacher's unwelcome mindrape hadn't helped much, but nevertheless Wataru looked forward to this afterschool meeting and the answers it hopefully held. When he finally reached the classroom, he found that most of the others had already settled in, which at least made it easier to find his assigned seat. #19, third row, far left... Who'd have thought. Suppressing a dry smile over his for pulling this particular seat, Wataru meandered slowly over, taking the time to give each and every student a surreptitious once over enroute. As he suspected their class seemed to have gathered the cream of the school's collective nutjobbery into one room. Foreigners, magician looking types and one guy that practically exuded bad intentions. And I have to police them. Fuck my life. Still, there were a few normal looking sorts, like the bespeckled girl seated next to him. Wataru took his place and set about withdrawing what books and stationary he might need, finding to his mild disappointment and private relief that no teacher had shown up yet. In the silence he decided that making friends would be a good start if he was to stay sane. 'Good morning.', he said to the girl, flashing a friendly smile. 'I was worried that I might end up seated in the middle of a group of strangers and I'm no good with that.' Brushing a stray lock of hair out of his eyes, Wataru extended a hand in greeting. 'Satou Wataru, esper and I guess now a member of the Student Council. Joy. Nice to meet you?'
