If you see some random accusative noun that is a part of the body (hair, head, arms, etc.), the syntax is called a Greek Accusative of Respect. Also, do you know how to scan Latin poetry? The meter of the poetry helps sometimes, especially when it tells you whether a vowel is long or short.
