Katie stared down at the stony blue skinned boy standing in front of her desk, looking up at her with an audacious grin. "Mamodo?" she asked unenthusiastically while flipping through the cyan-hued book that he had handed her and raised an eyebrow at the strange writing within it. She paused briefly and flashed a look of interest as she came upon a glowing page that she seemed to inexplicably understand, but shook her head and shut it dismissively soon after. "Shouldn't you be in school? I can't help you, kid." The mamodo child chuckled as she bent over the desk to hand the spellbook to him, refusing to accept it and pushing it back into her hands. "Don't lie, miss," he said, his smile growing broader, "you can read it, can't you? You're in this with me now whether you believe it or not." She rolled her eyes as he pushed the book onto her desk, unconvinced, and he went on. "Hang onto this book then... and I'll meet you after work and show you the truth." With that said, Vio turned and exited the college office where Katie was on duty as a student assistant; drawing a few eyes from the adults walking through the hallway from his young age and strange appearance. After watching him leave through the glass wall, Katie soon turned her attention back to the book and opened it to the glowing page with a slight spark of curiosity. She read it in silence.
