Sev stared blankly at the man, "Alliance? As in I help you?" He pondered the idea for a minute. [i]I could help him, that's for sure. Channeling emotions into the spells are basic techniques. What could he possibly do for me is the real question. [/i] 

Before Sev could reply, a loud shriek came from Kali. She darted out of the bushes and latched onto Sev's leg. "Kali, what did you do?" Sev hissed. She slowly moved her eyes up to meet his and softly spoke, "Kill them." Sev only sighed then looked up at Jack, "I don't see how I could benefit from that. You'd only keep Kali from winning battles." He pulled the book out of his bag and carried it under his arm. "And I will not let you get in her way."

The book under his arm began to glow, as Kali detached herself from Sev's leg. "Yes!" She exclaimed, "The second spell!"
