When Kori noticed that the green Mamodo and it's partner were looking in his direction, he started waving franticly. "Hey nice to meet you!"  Completely ignoring that the human had prepared their spellbook,he just kept running in their direction, so that when he finally arrived next them he had to spend 10 seconds to catch his breath.

Ryu was less concerned about getting to the two strangers then he was staying close to his partner in case they would try something. However when he saw that Kori managed to stand next to them without being attacked he let his guard down. He visibly put his spellbook in his pocket, where he if necessary could still take it out of pretty fast.
