That's[@HeySeuss] question to answer, but I imagined him as a Machiavelli type when I wrote my character, pulling strings and balancing everyone's interests against his own.

Then again, how YOUR character [b][i]perceived[/i][/b] de Lacy and how everyone else [b][i]perceived[/i][/b] de Lacy could be wildly different...
