One minute she was there motivating him to continue. The next she was lying with a dart in her neck. Kituo cringed as he watched the girl fall but he did not dwindle on it for too long. Instead, he kept pushing towards the light in search of salvation from the hell that was torturing him. He wanted to feel bad for not stopping to check on her but he couldn't. As of right now his survival was of utmost importance for multiple reasons - or at least he thought so. At the moment he was the self appointed guardian for whatever was encased by the egg within the lantern. If it fell int the wrong hands then they would be finished. The flames were at his heels, his skin peeling as the heat brushed against his ankles. The sound of water patted down his nerves. While it was unlikely, perhaps they would finally be able to extinguish the out of control blaze. Either way, when a fire was going on, water was never bad. All the more incentive for Kituo not to give up. He continued until he came to a bridge which hung above turbulent rapids. Kituo gulped at the thought of falling in and exhaled before taking another step forward. Towards the heart of the bridge he saw two people - one of them looking familiar. Were his eyes deceiving him? Maybe they were. He wasn't prepared to believe them. The purple light still demanded Kituo's attention and he smiled as it beckoned him. Underneath its shine he could make out three figures which he assumed were also human. Relief settled into Kituo but it did not get comfortable. While his loneliness was short lived, the fire was fast gaining. Were the people before him aware of the inferno? Kituo did not know. Therefore, he decided to approach, his knees wobbling as he tackled the bridge. Hopefully he wasn't making another mistake. Odds were he probably was.
