Hey! You get the idea, spirit being more for defense and weapon more for offense. It isn't limited to that. Spirit form usually have defensive abilities but they can also have offensive abilities and vice-versa. For example, The Significance has healing powers when it's in it's Spirit form but when it turns into it's Weapon form, it can produce projectiles such as fireballs. Hope that clears out some stuff.
