Winter
Leaning against a railing, Winter looked out over Ballard. The city was teeming with life, sounds and smog polluting the air. She ran a hand up and down her arm, either to warm herself against the chill or to wipe away the grime that was already layering itself on her skin, and glanced down at the dock. A few of the crew had already begun gathering, no doubt eager to stretch their legs – the two little ones, and a couple of the pretty-boys. Prince typically did a good job of keeping them out of trouble, but with Taran… Winter sighed quietly to herself and straightened up. Walking through the familiar halls of the Leviathan, she made her way down, finally touching land in the first time in… goodness, how long had it been? She did her usual practice of glancing at everyone around her, evaluating and measuring the situation. It'd long become second-nature to her, but she wasn't expecting anything of import to happen in Ballard. Then again, with this crew you never knew. "You'll remember not to kick up a fuss while we're here, yes?" she said as she drew near, her gentle voice cutting through the clamor of the city. The corner of her mouth twitched up, betraying her fondness, despite her warning. Her comment was mainly directed at Taran (oh yes, she'd heard his comment) but it was good for the rest to hear, too. "We're not exactly ready for any quick getaways this time." Winter glanced down to see what Levi had written on her notebook. Coffee was innocent enough. Then again, they were pirates.
