I do believe I'll try my hand at this.

Finding a favourite character was tough, but now the [i]real[/i] challenge lies ahead—I don't like to cheat myself out of a death, even if for but the duration of a contest. I must endeavour to formulate a death that both fits within the confines of the contest [i]and[/i] the original narrative from which the character is borne.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be a challenge at all, amirite?
