Winter
Winter raised an eyebrow at the younger girl. "You've got something on your dress," she said dryly, looking at the blood spatters on Levi's clothes. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a new coat she'd spent a good chunk of time haggling for from her shopping bag and handed it to the young girl to cover up. She then made a point of glancing around the store, eyeing all the people in it to communicate they shouldn't talk where there were so many ears. Turning on her heel, Winter walked out the door, expecting Levi to follow. She lead her down the alley, past the corpses, and across another block. When they were a safe distance from the scene, and in a deserted area, she turned to finally face Levi. "Tell me, Levi," she said, voice calm and icy, "What exactly were you going to do when those officers arrived to find three mutilated corpses on the alley floor, and found you in the art store covered in blood? Kill them too? Bring the whole town down on us? And then what? Run back to the Leviathan which is landlocked until further notice?" Throughout the lecture, Winter's voice had remained steady and unwavering, carrying the same coldness that seemed to chill the air. But she sighed then and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she was still stern but a bit of warmth began to leak into her voice again. "You have to be smarter. I'm not lecturing you on the right or wrong of killing, but you have to know how to cover your tracks, or you're just making a mess. I'll teach you how to get rid of a body, ok? But until then you have to get in the habit of at least hiding them." And then Winter plucked Levi's sword away from her. "This is confiscated until you can learn to use your head before flashing it about," she said, slipping it into her bag. Her lecture mode was back. "Go back to the ship and wait there until it's time to leave. I hear you did anything else, you'll find your food tasting a little more unpleasant." With that, Winter turned again and walked back into the city. She was making good time back in the shopping district, weaving between the vendors. Her bags were weighed down with weapons, but she paid them no mind. At least, until she heard a gun shot ring out in the night. People around her jumped and panicked, wondering at the sound. Winter just closed her eyes and dropped her head into her palm.
