The ladder wasn't let all the way down, so it dangled a few inches out of his reach. He jumped for it and the metal squeaked in protest as he pulled himself up. Although he would never admit it, his small size did seem to have a positive impact on his agility. He pulled himself up easily, though the motion made him grimace from the pain that shot through his neck. Man, he was gonna have some wicked bruising. He scrambled up and to the window, being careful to try and keep quiet. From his new height advantage, he could now see a group of people running with swords drawn towards them. “Watch out, they're almost on us.” He hissed down to Jax, before slipping in through the window. He dropped to the floor and froze for a second while he got his bearings. The room was dark. Something smelled of mildew, and they dust in the room made his eyes water. He moved away from the window so that Jax could follow him in. The fact that he couldn't see the mysterious woman made him edgy. “Kara?” He called out softly, his voice hardly above a whisper.
