Do you think we'd want them to meet prior to them meeting online but before revealing themselves? Or would you want it to all sort of happen at once? I was thinking them hanging out offline and catching up irl might help spark conversation online in passing (small tidbits like being busy because they were catching up with an old friend over coffee or something small like that).
