The morning had been kind to Ted. The first thing he saw when he woke up this morning was the baker tossing out day old pastries. A rare treat that Ted generally didn't often get. As soon as the baker had gone back into the building Ted ran up to the dumpster and grabbed some of the less sticky pastries and quickly took a large bite out of a piece of bread that had just been dumped. It was cool, but not yet hardened from staleness. Ted then glanced over between two buildings and noticed the girl who had saved him a few weeks prior, but not wanting to be noticed he went and hid inside his building. The building was nothing out of the ordinary in this part of town. Nobody used, it use to be a 'Bed Bath and Beyond' and it still had some furniture not looted from it. The door and windows were boarded up, but there was a small space just large enough for Ted to squeeze into, to get inside. Edited: 6:18 4/23/15 (sorry if you've already this [@Savi] I thought of a reason for this post now =P ) Grabbing two old buckets near the entrance Ted quickly walked to the only source of water he had access to. He knelt down on the edge of the river, which runs through the middle of the city, and filled the buckets. Ted walked back to his dwelling and emptied the buckets into one of the bathtubs that was left in the store. Ted took more and more trips till he filled the tub. "There" he said " now I have enough water for anything I need for a week and I don't need to go near that damn river until I run out." Ted then set up a small fire to be made in the back of the abandoned store to heat the water for any of his needs later.
