Kaya looked at him curiously, shaking her head slowly as he spoke. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but waited as the waitress returned with their food. She thanked the woman and then looked up at Bryant again curiously. “You have the strangest sounding friends.” She said, still trying to work it through in her head how Bryant fit into that group. She figured maybe it was more the individual relationships rather than the idea of a group that held them together, which she eventually decided sounded the most logical. They were a number of individual friendships who grouped together for convenience. As such Bryant’s attraction wasn’t to the group as a whole, but the individuals within, despite his constant complaints about them. She eventually shrugged and turned her attention to her burger, peeling off the top bun as she began placing fries neatly onto the burger before putting the bun back on and taking a big mouthful. She glanced up at Bryant as she chewed and eventually swallowed and pointed a finger at him. “Don’t judge me.” She warned before smiling and taking another large bite out of the burger. He was right, they did make really good burgers here.
