At that time, Shiranui was heading west along Route 42 when Suicune showed up. "Tachi, come on out!" He sent out his Espeon. "Tachi, can you link my mind with Suicune's for the sake of communication?" The Espeon nodded and linked Shiranui and Suicune's minds together. "I am sorry, child of the moon, for running away from you," Suicune apologised. "You are forgiven," replied Shiranui, not expecting an apology from a legendary, "May I ask why?" "A human who was obsessed with me was nearby and I had to bail," Suicune explained, "But since he is nowhere nearby, I can proceed to do with you what I originally intended and that would be a test of your prowess in battle." "Bring it on, Suicune!" Shiranui accepted, "Hitsuji, I choose you!" Suicune was staring at Shiranui's Ampharos while Tachi stood next to Shiranui. The mind link was severed and the battle was on. "Hitsuji, Thunder Wave! Mega Ring activate!" Hitsuji was encased in an orb of energy until a Mega Ampharos popped out. Suicune fired a Bubble Beam and Hitsuji was buffeted by the bubbles before zapping Suicune into paralysis. "Electro Ball!" Hitsuji conjured an orb of electricity and threw it at Suicune. With the legendary paralysed, the ball electrocuted Suicune for major damage. Suicune couldn't move from the paralysis. "Hitsuji, Discharge!" The Mega Ampharos loosed a flare of electricity that zapped Suicune for enough damage for the legendary to barely survive. Suicune fired an Aurora Beam that blasted Hitsuji for as much damage as it suffered before. "Ultra Ball, go!" Shiranui threw an Ultra Ball at Suicune and the latter was drawn in. The ball shook a lot and Shiranui waited with bated breath for what he hoped the ball would do. A loud ping was heard and Shiranui picked up the now-still Ultra Ball. "I guess I passed your test, Kitakaze," he commented, naming the captured Suicune in the process. Tachi was pleased to have yet another new friend added to the ranks. A distant squawk was heard by Shiranui as he looked at the Bell Tower on the horizon.
