As if drained of all intent and energy, 221 slumped back down onto the ground before the flames, letting loose his rather tight grip of the young girls wrist. He didn't seem responsive as she spoke to him and asked questions. Instead he looked on with a child's awe at the fire. In spite of his age and life under military watch, fire was a first for 221. The closest thing he ever saw was the split second flash given off by guns. Somehow he apparently found it fascinating. After several docile moments of watching the fire, 221 finally managed the will to slowly raise a hand toward the flame, as if to touch it.
