Seven seems sufficient to begin discussing rudimentary plot details. I intend, at the start of the RP, for the Ennedi home system to be discovered after eighty million years. It will, naturally, be completely abandoned with no lifesigns whatsoever in the system, but with remarkably intact planetary infrastructure on the home planet and a Starbase. In essence, I'd like for one nation or another, perhaps multiple nations, to send research teams and occupational forces to go and start poking and prodding at everything. In addition to all the historical insight the discovery might yield, there will be plenty of opportunities to examine intact Ennedi technology. For the start of the RP, I'll be writing for the Straylight Institute, an international science and research institution of some moderate renown. They have amongst their members some of the foremost Xenoarcheologists in the galaxy (although I am sure plenty also hail from some of the other nations), and they probably know more about the Ennedi than anybody else in the Galaxy, barring perhaps the Hlazgaran. They'll be looking for funding, sponsorship, and some military escorts while examining the homeworld and starbase.
The Ennedi System, after remaining obscured for more than eighty million years, has finally been rediscovered. To everyones' amazement, the Ennedi homeworld is still around and the massive, incredibly developed industrial and population infrastructure upon its surface is still nearly perfectly intact. Furthermore, an equally intact Ennedi Starbase has been found in a stable orbit further out in the system. This discovery is made all the more surprising due to the nature of the system's cosmic situation. The original star the Ennedi homeworld orbited around has, in the eighty million year gap, transitioned to its next major lifestate and has become a supergiant, a smaller Neutron star originating from the expansion event forming a binary system with it. This massive shift has completely stripped away the atmospheres of every planet and gas giant in the system, and so all of them are barren and inhospitable. The Ennedi Homeworld itself was not spared, and no form of biological life remains on the planet, with even micro-organisms akin to bacteria being absent due to massive background radiation and exposure to cosmic rays. However, the Ennedi ruins and cities have miraculously remained intact. The cities and the Ennedi starbase would all appear to be inert, not broadcasting any kind of artificial signal or else emitting any exotic energy signatures indicative of the presence of intelligent life.
