[@Jig] Certainly wouldn't mind having them be colleagues in the ministry, though after seeing Larry do an about face and not finding out about the Imperius, Drew probably wouldn't be too keen on seeing him again (at least until he gets an explanation). Same for the muggle tech. As for Arithmancy and muggle stuff, the way I link them is that you need an analytic mind for arithmancy, and (presumably) have to be good with numbers. Muggle tech is science, computers, 1's and 0's, machinery that runs on electricity. Having studied the magic of numbers, it transfers to analyzing and tinkering with machines and computers. Of course, that argument is moot if I can just use charms purely for casting traps. Part of it is I wanted to use those not often mentioned forms of magic, and part of it is I don't know if charms alone can account for some of the stuff I wanted Drew to do. As it is, Arithmancy is so far only described as numerology and predicting future events using maths, and Runes doesn't even seem to have an official use described. So, yeah. If I can just use charms for everything and don't need to get into details about how arithmancy and runes would be used, I'd be fine with that. I just don't know what I can and can't do yet with regards to the traps.
