I guess the only thing I'd want to say at the moment is that I fully agree with things diverting away from combat and evil. But I do like the idea of conflict between characters, whether it be a conflict in goals, natural inacceptance of someone, or just behaviours that would be normal for some, but disgusting to other (eg; vampires feeding on blood).
Well, let's see if I can clarify to help you out. A vampire feeds on blood. That's totally fine, and as I mentioned previously, I'm not opposed to having creatures addicted to particular substances/prey. However, what I'm NOT wanting is a vampire that hunts/preys on the inhabitants of the town, and is thus a villain. The general purpose of the RP is interpersonal character dynamics *which is a fancy way of saying interact with each other*. Conflicts are absolutely 100% acceptable and even encouraged, I don't want this to be everyone happy and loving *that's not fun* So for said vampire, he needs an alternative source of blood other than the hapless citizens of the town. You can assume in this world that has such a menagery living together, there'd be sources for such creatures *medical donor blood that can be purchased, animal blood, etc*. That does NOT mean everyone will still like that they feed on blood, which can be a source of conflict. In short: Your conflict can't be that the vampire has preyed upon your child and you want revenge, but it can be that you dislike that vampires eat blood, and as such you immediately dislike or outright hate vampires you meet based off said assumption. Or if you're a vamp, dealing with said prejudice. Does that clarify?
Might be interested in being some kind of vodnik/vodyanoi.
