That's between you and Pyromania. In a legitimate police force, a detective is different than an officer, and would probably barely work together on crimes. A private investigator tends to skirt the boundaries of the law and may also infringe on an officer's authority. One of you would need to modify your current job as they stand, but again: That's between you two.

As it stands, there's no real reason outside of you overlook her methods and she considers you a contact within the force, thus making you two friends already who work together to mutually benefit. Your character would probably get in a lot of trouble for it if caught however. So I guess it depends on how much risk you want to put into it, whether either of you would be willing to alter their job to make it less risky, and if you two working together would be viable if you factor in personalities and such.
