And yeah, I suppose the whole not covered in sentient bubble of mucus that might eat her would be a lot more practical... I honestly just chose having her live in a bubble because it'd be more fun ffff-- And I did think about the whole secreting and squirting (kehehe) mucus, but I thought it'd be too much added onto the bubble of safety. Nixing that though, I guess the book definition of mucus manipulation will be okay! 

And I totally like your idea of keeping the bubble for near death experiences, that's such a good idea I'm kind of angry I didn't think of it myself!!>:0 [s]But that said, can I keep her basic regenerative abilities? Or nah?[/s] Wait actually I just thought of another cool idea which I'll write down first and dazzle you with (hopefully lmao) later.
