Tyler - Plaza - Floyd/Jess/Tremblay Community His throat had been burned raw, his face feeling like someone was pressing down on it hard. He'd tried not to, but Tyler had done his fair share of yelling in the face of the beating Tremblay had given him. The man had wanted to know everything, and Tyler had given it all up eventually. He couldn't understand why this man hated him so much-- no, that wasn't true, Tyler could very well understand why anyone could hate him. He just didn't get why Tremblay would go so far to get here. Now, he understood. Whoever this Richard Treis was, Tremblay wanted him gone. He sought to use this mess as a means of spurning his group into doing it. The whole thing made Tyler sick. It reminded him of Haywood. It reminded him of himself. As Scarlett began to back away in disgust, Tyler fell forward, his hands catching himself before he fell on his face. He felt as if bile was rising from his stomach, threatening to make him sick all over the pavement. The light from the fires nearby were hurting his eyes. Scarlett asked the million dollar question: was this man lying? Though Tyler was staring at the ground, he knew she was asking him. He expected someone to speak up and say it was all true, as Tremblay seemed to have gathered people to do just that, but no one said anything. A distressing silence fell over everybody, only the crackling of the fires and Tyler's ragged breathing being heard throughout the plaza. Tyler had to answer her, but he had no idea what to say. Yes. This isn't where Tyler expected to die, but could he have expected anything less? Yes. He knew he deserved this, but it had never been in Tyler's nature to give up. Yes. "Scarlett," he croaked, looking up at her. "What this man is saying... the truth is..." Yes. "No. He's lying. This bastard is lying!" Tyler looked up at Tremblay, a fierceness in his eyes. Tremblay only stared back impassively. The woman who had spoken before was talking once again. "This isn't how we should be going about this, Michael. There's a better way." Tremblay could only look around at the crowd before him. Tyler could see that his cool demeanour had vanished, replaced by a noticeable worry. "Will no one say anything?" After Scarlett's declaration, Tyler knew that no one would take Matt's words for true either. No one wanted this.
