Shadow, ironically enough, has the ability to control beams of light around her. She can produce light from her body. Light can have healing powers, which means that she can be a healer of a group. She is able to set things on fire as well, but it takes a lot of energy. She is able to produce orbs of light to light peoples' way and to light her way. She can also make herself glow. She also has the ability to write things in light or send messages through light. She can easily blind people or create cover for a quick getaway. She also has the ability to change the lights in an area, including solar lights. She can dim the sun as well as bright it, or she can dim the stars, which is where she got her name from. 

[b]Weaknesses or Side-Effects:[/b]
Her weakness is that light burns up her body. The more that she uses her power, the more she burns up from the inside. She is, technically, slowly dying the more she uses her powers. She is also weaker when darkness and shadows are forced upon her. If someone had shadow manipulation, they would be her counterpart because she cannot survive without sunlight itself, that's why she cannot stay in a dark place for too long.

Shadow is a very quiet person. She does not talk to very many people. She prefers not to in fact. She is more of an introvert than an extrovert. She likes staying inside and reading rather than going on adventures. She is very smart and extremely clever. She is quick witted and also very mischievous. Just because you prefer to not really talk to anyone doesn't mean that you can't pull pranks. She is a very light hearted person and can be kind when she meets someone she likes. She hates posers and prefers not to associate herself with people who do evil. She may be mischievous, but she knows the boundaries. 
 
[b]Background:[/b]
Shadow grew up an orphan and thinking that she was the only one in her family. Most people think that this is the reason why she is so quiet because she is used to being alone. She was found on the doorstep of an orphanage, but unlike every other orphanage story, she was not resting in a box. She was out of a blanket and had no note and was sitting there, just wailing as loud as she could for someone to come and get her. And that is mostly where she grew up. 

Shadow was different even before she gained her powers. She would sit and stare at a bug for hours, recording its movements, before going and eating the bug, like other children her age. She wouldn't go out and play like the other kids. She would stay inside and see what would happen if she dropped a glass bottle from the top of the stairs. This is how she got into her mischievous side. Though she had the quiet, scholarly girl, she also had the mischievous, devilly, Loki side of her which always caused her foster parents to bring her back to the orphanage. She didn't know how to control that side, but she knew she wanted to. She suppressed for many years, but her rep had already grown and she was never adopted. 

When she was eighteen and legally an adult, she moved out of the orphanage and found her own place. She got her own job, working at a library near the ocean. She loved that spot. In fact, she was one of the closest people to the shoreline when the tanker exploded. She does not remember much after the tanker exploded. She does remember, though, waking up in her bed with a golden glow around her skin. This was when she discovered her abilities and how different she was. She has actually tried to hide her abilities and go back to her normal life, but that hasn't been working out too well for her... 

[b]Other:[/b]
She has a small white kitten named Moon and a small beagle named Pooch. She tends to have Moon with her wherever she goes because she is such a small kitten that Shadow sometimes just puts her in her purse. She also feels like Moon keeps her normal.
