Public opinion and corporately puppeted media opposed to any major changes in the world have actually been ensuring that the rich grow steadily richer at the expense of the weak. Set in 2016, you are to play the role of a Wonder, one of the few superheroes willing to stand for true justice in an ominous age. While this game shares the name of the DC Comics series and borrows several concepts, it is not set to follow that continuity or any other preexisting storyline.
Plot_________

Chapter One: The Wonders are individually led to Metropolis, where they collectively are engaged in a battle against the Ultra-Humanite.

Setting______
On September 11 2001 America changed forever, and the world as a whole would soon follow suit. The security people had found diminished after the twin towers dropped, crashing down and shattering racial, religious, and social tolerances. Years would pass and the American Government put a stranglehold on its people and foreigners all over with the NSA, watching their every move. The United Nations around the globe were disturbed by this, so in 2012 they forcibly disbanded the United States of America before swallowing each isolated state up with a global army that did the same to every country. All military assets were confiscated before being redistributed by The World Government. Peace was thrusted down the people's throats and between governments, the long sought dream of world peace was realized. But free will allowed countless injustices between corruption and small scale actions. An alien named Kal-L had landed on Earth decades ago, growing up among the people and steadily increasing in power. Diana Prince, an Amazonian warrior from a paradise island of women came to the Western World. And Bruce Wayne, an orphaned billionaire with an extreme amount of resources presented himself as a symbol of vengeance, The Batman. These were foremost among the world's new wonders, iconic spectacles dedicated to truth & justice. In 2015 the three wonders of the world joined the World Army in a fight against superhuman invaders from a distant world. These were the armies of Apokalypse, under their evil leader Darkseid and an army under the command of his general, Steppenwolf. The world was saved, but left with more scars than by any other conflict. The invasion sparked global interest in aliens, meta-humans, and masked individuals. So the watchful eye of The World Government has set its sights on the wonders, creating its own projects for a superpowered workforce. Regarding 'Wonders':

The Justice Society has not been formed, but will be composed of player characters.
Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman live.
Meta-Humans are relatively rare, which is why they are considered wonders. For instance, Two-Face would not count as a Wonder, unless you really changed who he typically is.
Wonders have been abruptly increasing in frequency over the previous centuries.
Regarding the World Government:

Though the entire world is under their rule, laws are set in place for specific regions.
With few exceptions the areas retain their previous names, but generally lack borders.
They can be thought of as an equivalent to Marvel's SHIELD. Their group of meta-humans, which will debut in the IC, can be likened to The Ultimates or the modern Avengers teams.
They are not ruled by Americans, but are manipulated by the wealthiest people in the world, which does not actually include Bruce Wayne.

Rules________

1. A post should be three to five paragraphs. It can be understood if you're in a conversation, but sheer laziness is, firstly forbidden, and also to be looked down upon. The minimum accepted post length is two paragraphs of four complete sentences. Posts are expected once every week, and after two you will be listed as inactive. When three pass, you will be removed from the roster. If you are removed from the roster, you may reapply once a week has passed. 2. Avoid referencing any characters who were conceived in the Silver Age forward. The line can generally be drawn somewhere in the early sixties. It's very easy, but the essence of the game is to focus on the older characters. 3. Thou shalt not Godmod or kill your fellow characters. This refers to controlling or manipulating another player's character in way that is completely self-beneficial and not pre-approved by the other player. This also includes being untouchable against NPC characters as well as being all knowing. A single instance of this will result in an [@mention] of your removal. If you can't tell if it counts as Godmodding, ask a question. 4. As much as there is a plan for what is to happen throughout the RP, it's nothing without the players and their characters. If there is a pause in the action, direct your characters however you'd like with subplots and character development. On the other hand, keep it social by building/burning IC relationships. Not all of them would wait around for directions from the nerd in the sky. 5. If you break character in the OOC thread, so help me god I will channel the wrath of the nine Hells into your expulsion. Just kidding, only like seven of them.

1. Respect the GMs, AGMs, LGMs, and your fellow players. Failure to comply will result in indiscriminate expulsion. Not to say that a misunderstanding will count against you, but if someone expresses offense, explain your comments instead of justifying. Any legitimate problems should be hammered out via PMs, if necessary the GM can be a mediator. 2. No GIF wars or irrelevant chatter. It makes actually finding things that stand out as important difficult to find. Don't spam the thread with countless posts of simple thoughts in a row. Instead, feel free to discuss characters, plots, sub-plots, or share any media that may be relevant, like an image you drew or something. Chat is allowed and encouraged but within reason. 3. Always make sure you are caught up in the OOC thread before you post in the IC. This is in case any major decisions are made or instructions are given.

1. They must presently be owned by DC Comics and have debuted in The Golden Age of Comic Books or previously have appeared as a native of Earth-2. There will be no exceptions besides consideration of characters who are better known for their inclusion in the JSA over any other group. However, these will be few. For ideas on who is available, you can check these lists. While giving a character a new origin or personality is acceptable, don't take this as an opportunity to plaster the name of a classic hero over your original creation. 3. All applications are expected to use the Character Sheet below or a similarly formatted one. You may decorate it or add fields, but you may not remove or reorder them. Be sure to space between paragraphs and make sure it's pleasing to the eye. It may be shallow, but walls of text discourage me from actually reading them. If you don't ever space between paragraphs, you will be rejected. 4. Keep your spelling and grammar up. If I can't tell what you're trying to say, I'm going to ask you to fix it. If English actually isn't your first language, say so in your notes. 5. In your backstory, please include a quote that influenced your character at some point. It doesn't have to be formatted like a quote, but make sure I can tell what it is by using parentheses. 6. Post your CSs in the OOC. If they are a work in progress, mention when they'refinished. They will not be accepted until the GM(s) have reviewed it. When a sheet is posted, there will be twenty-four hours for other players to apply for the same character. After the period has ended, all sheets will be discussed by the GMs and the 'winner' will be selected.

CS___________

[sub]
Name: ___ // Alias: ___ Race: ___ // Gender: ___ Height: (Preferably Standard) // Weight: (Preferably Standard) Age: ___ // Hair: ___ // Eyes: ___ Affiliations: (Employers, Clubs, Secret Societies, etc.) Occupation: ___ Appearance: (Given the above fields, this is an optional field where you may include images or largely elaborate on your looks if you wish.)
