fifth edition character creation is easy. I basically did mine in five minutes. In 3.5 Edition, even if I get it over with I can screw myself with a horrible dice roll. Under Fifth edition character rules, I just made a totally awesome but not over powered character, was totally satisfied in every way, in obedience to the rules as written. In 3.5 edition, I could roll something like 12 across the board except maybe one score of 15 and be stuck with it, or worse. Or some very lame, vanilla boring 36 or 27 point buy where everything is a 10 except for a couple of high scores +2 from a racial trait. And then I would have to change my character class to meet my ability scores.
