I think we need to develop their reasoning a bit more then. I was partially thinking they could have been in pure disagreement with the king from the beginning and even want to over throw him. However, these nobles don't have a strong enough following to do so and that's why they want a war to occur because it would weaken the king's defense and would likely allow them to gain more support against him.
