Greetings and welcome to SAO...in roleplay form. This will be something of a cross between an open-world and a goal-oriented RP, in that each player will be able to roam the virtual world and take on their own quests as they please, but there will also be several ongoing conflicts at the same time, like in a real MMO. [b]Player Motivation System:[/b] Naturally, I lack the brain power to populate all of ALfheim and Aincrad, so I'll leave some portions of that up to you, the player. I'm talking about monsters, items, skills, quests, and NPCs. If you get an idea for any of these that you want to introduce to the story, just ask me about it in the OOC (or tby message if you want to be sneaky). Just make sure you get approval before throwing them in, so I can try to keep the game balance. [b]Plots and Conflicts:[/b] These are some of the plot lines either currently active or soon to begin in the game. If a player wants to take part in that story, they can just join in at any time, but some events might have a player limit. [u]Grand Opening:[/u] Status - Open Upon the introduction of New Aincrad to ALO, the GMs announce a contest as a publicity stunt. The first party to defeat the boss on floor 10 will receive a new set of unique skills. This draws the attention of everyone in the game, including new parties made entirely of guild leaders, but particularly a group of outcasts looking to make their mark in the game. [u]Familiar Faces:[/u] Status - In Development A Cait Sith player has trained their familiar to a high experience level. They enlist the aid of several other players on an adventure into the Cait Sith territory, to find a magic stone that will evolve the familiar into a full-sized mount. Unfortunately, a thieves' guild is out to steal the rare item from them. [u]Roots of the World Tree:[/u] Status - In Development ALfheim Online is divided into nine territories, each belonging to one of the faerie races of the game, with the giant World Tree at the map's center. The tree's roots spread to cover all of ALfheim, and in each territory there grows a lesser tree from those roots. And inside those trees lie valuable items useful only to their respective races. Amid the political struggles in ALfheim, can a mix-match group of players retrieve each of those legendary items? [b]Da Rules[/b] 1. Keep the ethics system turned on. 2. Excessive swearing or putting other players down will result in a decreased pain absorption level. 3. The GM is not ad mad as King Oberon, but he still retains the power to ban as needed. It's mostly standard character info, but I'd ask that you wait until I give the okay before you jump into the game. Just a way for me to avoid any game imbalance.
