Nya slipped into Seril’s room. She tried not to act surprised or frustrated that he was acting so odd. Maybe I could just… she quickly stopped that train of thought, That’s ridiculous. I can’t try reading him. I’m normal and normal people don’t read spirit. In reality, Nya could read auras. She called it a person’s spirit because that’s what it was. It was the hopes and dreams, the intentions, emotions and the very life force inside their body. She knew who was a fighter and who was someone you could walk on. She could even manipulate each aspect of a person’s spirit when she needed to. It had worked on Codeeva like a charm. When he came back from his training, Codeeva was a different person. He was angry, cold and hid everything from the family. Their mother spent hours crying over her lost son. Nya couldn’t take the pain she could feel from her mother and the nauseating pit she felt from Codeeva. One night she snuck into his room and changed him. She never really knew how she had done it. It was almost like praying for her. She prayed and begged for Codeeva to be better. She wanted the brother back that she had always looked up. The next morning, it was like he had never gone to Guard Training. He was boisterous, adventurous and still had the same grin that always made Nya smile. At first she didn’t make the connection, then she did the same for her mother. After that, it was like there wasn’t anything about a person she couldn’t fix. Of course she couldn’t control them or alter their personality, but the ebb and flow of their emotions and their desires lay right in Nya’s hands. It was really why Nya had such a hard time being around people like Colt and Dyana. Their feelings for each other covered her like a fog. She couldn’t breathe around them. It was also why she had taken such a liking to Seril. He was so light. There was something about his person that let Nya breathe easily. She went against her better judgment and decided to read him, knowing she needed...and wanted...to know more about him. She focused on Seril, attempting to glean what should could off of his spirit. Immediately she was hit with heat and vibrant colors. It knocked the air right out of her. She coughed over and over. She leaned on the wall, gasping for breath. “What the hell…..is………wrong……with you?!” she said with the little breath she had. [@kagethekiller]
