In this case. It is just raw power in the form of energy. Well that is what I found in my...research, of the subject in my world. Our magic is a energy that is foun in all of our people. The unicorns have the ability to hone it and channel it through their horns. Pegasi are able to use it to build homes in the clouds and be able to create and choose weather.
