~|~ Deceit By many, it is said that this is the trademark of the Sith. For Twenty-eight years, the Galactic Republic has been at war with the Sith Empire. Untold millions have died on both sides. Countless lives have fallen into ruin as worlds beyond count have been laid to waste. While most still support either the Republic, the Empire or smaller factions of their own, many are tired of the war. Many do not see the war as more than a religious conflict between the Jedi and the Sith. Recently, the Sith Empire started gaining ground against the republic. This is one reason many, particularly within the ranks of the Jedi Order, suspected the deceit to come after the Sith Empire sued for peace. But no matter how expected the deceit was, no one in the entire republic had in their wildest thoughts imagined exactly what the Sith would do. It came as much as a shock to them as the wish for a peace negotiation did. Even as the Peace talks were progressing on the neutral planet of Alderaan, A mandalorian warrior working for the empire disabled the Coruscanti defense grid. Shortly afterwards, long before anyone noticed the disabled defense grid, Darth Malgus, accompanied by fifty Sith Warriors, struck straight at the Jedi Temple. At the same time, a fleet of Imperial warships jumped into Coruscanti Orbit, immediately taking out the planet’s Holonet connections. To the greater galaxy, it was as if Coruscant simply disappeared. As the warships started their bombardment and took out what few defenses remained, they also set up blockades along all the hyperspace trade routes away from the planet. Down in the Jedi temple, Darth Malgus and his warriors decimated the defenders, handily slaughtering them. This is all common knowledge now. What is not known is that not all the Jedi in the temple died. After the bulk of the defenders were taken out, the Sith spread throughout the temple, capturing countless Jedi and other persons of interest. Six hours later, the explosives placed throughout the Jedi Temple were detonated, killing all who remained within and burying the dead within the rubble. The Jedi captives were taken onto ships in orbit, with the majority being detained upon the Kaggath, a warship/transport controlled by the enigmatic Darth Nyiss. Shortly afterwards, the ship departed from Coruscanti orbit, heading out along the Corellian run for destinations unknown. The question is as such: Which are you? Prisoner, Rescuer or Captor? Jedi or Sith?
You are a Jedi Knight in the service of the Galactic Republic. Wherever you were when the Sith assaulted the temple, you somehow survived. You are uncertain whether this is a blessing or a curse, for though you survived, you were captured by the Sith. After some time, you were sent to the Kaggath, where most other captive jedi are being held. If captured by someone not in Darth Nyiss’ service, you may arrive through a rendezvous with the Kaggath. You now have to resist the Sith and find a way to escape, but at least you are not alone. The question is this: Will you be able to resist the influence of the Dark Side? Is escape possible? Will you even survive?

Shortly after the Sacking of Coruscant, you were contacted by a Jedi Master named Lyric Novan, who sought you out for your specialized skillset in a mission to rescue Jedi taken captive by the Sith before and during the sacking of Coruscant. You were informed of the high risk this mission poses but you still chose to join it. You might have many reasons, you might have few, but you nonetheless seek to rescue your brother and sister Jedi. Your task is simple: Finding the missing Jedi and doing everything in your power to rescue them. You know full well that both the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order cannot claim to have any responsibility for your actions, for when the peace treaty was signed, your mission could no longer be formally supported by the Order, let alone the Republic.

You are a Sith. Whom you served before matters not now. Following the Sacking of Coruscant, you entered the service of Darth Nyiss, perhaps for the glory of turning captured Jedi to the dark side and to serving the Empire, perhaps to earn her favor so you might gain influence in the Empire and greater knowledge about the Force. Whatever your reasons, you now find yourself upon the Kaggath, entertaining the Jedi captives there, but you are not alone. There are many other Sith also there, some having the same goal as you, some having others. Some will ignore you, some will seek to kill you, and you don’t know who are which. In the months to come, you will have to do your best to avoid death, turn Jedi and gain influence all at the same time. The question is this: How well will you do it, and will you survive long enough to earn your patron’s favor? Or will you be killed by your foolishness, mistakes or peers?
~|~ Jump over to the IRC and show which path you will follow. Or are you afraid to reveal it?
This RP is a reboot from an older version first started prior to the guildfall. While most of the original RP survived, it died some months after the guildfall due to design flaws. These flaws have been fixed in this version and while some of the players left after it was put into hiatus, many others waited eagerly for its return. Most the vets from the previous iteration have made a return, altering their CS’s from the original format so don’t let their longer sheets intimidate you. It’s just their excitement shining through. However, the NPCs number has been limited and lowered compared to the earlier vision so to lessen the GMs’ work, stress and allows us to [s]torment[/s] focus on our players and story more. It has taken almost a full year to hammer out the kinks, flaws, and listening to the players of old, taking their wishes and ideas into account in order to make the story reach its maximum potential. The group is a dedicated, cooperative, and fun group that will welcome players with open arms and help work them into the story with plot ideas, connections, and more. These traits are highly encouraged and valued among this core group of players, so don’t be afraid to share what you got to further enrich the world we’ve made. Because of the nature of some events in the RP, it can in some ways be considered “Mature”. There will be torture. Maiming. Death. There might be other things of a not-nice nature. Nothing in public eye that violates guild rules, of course, but who knows what some might do in private? If you are faint of heart, afraid of descriptions of violence and blood, then it might be wise to avoid Aftermath.

By learning from lessons gained during Aftermath I [sup](thats the name of the previous iteration, if you’re in doubt)[/sup], We will enforce somewhat of a timestamp system for this RP. While a system based around the biggest monumental event in the SW universe in this time period might seem appropriate, that choice caused just headaches in Aftermath I, as the biggest event was the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is three days after RP start. As such, the timestamps will be fairly simple: Day number, hours:minutes after midnight It will be using Galactic standard time (24 hours in a day, 60 minutes per hour) The day of the Sacking of Coruscant is day 1. (and the time it started was 11:30 in the morning) The defined nightfall for the Kaggath is at 22:00 GST. The defined dawn for the Kaggath is at 07:00 GST. The Memory of Coruscant operates with the same timetable (for practical reasons) If you don't understand how a 24-hour clock works (say, if you're used to the silly AM/PM system), if its after noon, you add 12 to the hour and use the sum. anything between midnight and 01:00 is 00:nn. There are older timestamps from the previous system for time. They are based on a "days, hours, minutes since the sacking started". If you're unsure when a post happened in that system in the present system, look here.
