Koren Omi-Ren
Name: Koren Omi-Ren Species: Human Age: 23 Gender: Male Faction: Jedi Order Rank: Jedi Knight - Watchman Captive? The most Captivating of Captives. Notable Race Traits: None. Flaws: Mentally Traumatized: While he is in control of his emotions, due to the traumatic events on Manaan he sometimes re-lives the event, and when that occurs he suffered from increased anxiety and finds it harder to keep his emotions in check. The issues with his emotions cause him to withdraw from some of his Force abilities, to ensure that he is the one in control. Lonesome: Watchmen by their very roles in the Jedi Order aren’t as used to making connections as other Jedi. They never work in a team and quite often have to work behind the scenes in order to steer governments or organisations in the direction that is best for the galaxy at whole. While he is not opposed to teamwork taking part in a team will be a dynamic he is not used too, especially if he isn’t the one making the decision. A concept he would struggle with. Left Knee: His left knee suffered extensive damage during his time as a Padawan, despite kolto treatment and Jedi healing the knee itself is susceptible to pains when overused, causes a constant limp and a soft point for attack. As such he tends to keep all his weight on his right leg when engaged in combat. Medical Skills: While talented on handling people, and political situations he doesn’t have technical know how or medical know how beyond the basics expected off all Jedi. The Code: His strict adherence to the code has been found as an annoyance by several other Jedi that he has come across before. Distrust: While those he saved from Manaan treat him as a saviour, his faith in the Republic, and in some small way the Jedi has been shaken due to their apparent unwillingness to assist Manaan. Skills: Observational: As part of his training he has been trained to keep a keen eye, to spot anything out of the ordinary without solely relying on the Force to do so*. Tactical/Strategic: Most of his jobs involve solving problems on planets before they truly become a problem, and this needs quite a lot of political wrangling and maneuvering and as such he needs to think several steps ahead to make sure his actions won’t have adverse reactions in the future*. Sneaky: Without the use of the Force, he’s learned how to blend into a crowd and fulfill a role to make sure nobody notices him. A task necessary as Jedi can’t find out anything as Jedi, so sometimes to get to the route of the problem it requires improvising. Independent/Improviser: As stated above a lot of his jobs he does by himself, and they require a certain degree of self reliance. Not to mention that with the roles he is performing quite often while performing a plan he has to improvise on the spot to make sure it works. This does not mean that he is unwilling to work with others, he actually prefers the company. However with a war on he could not always rely on support when he needed it. Despite knowing this, the failure for the Republic to help Manaan has shaken his faith in it. Investigator: He has been trained to solve crime, as such he’s become a proficient investigator. Lightsaber Combat: Trained in the tricky Tràkata and Sokan, duelist Makashi and Shii-Cho (like most Jedi), has also touched base on Soresu. Bi-Lingual: While versed in Galactic Basic also able to understand Selkath, and is also able to speak the language if he gives it some time to think about it. *Both of these skills he has also refined in an underwater environment giving him good spacial awareness and is also capable of working underwater easily and is so used to it it barely affects him. Force capabilities: Core Abilities: Regular practice with telekinesis has increased his proficiency in it, making him more precise and slightly more powerful than someone who has not dedicated time to specifically studying telekinesis. Force Revitalization: Typically uses this to replenish himself physically or spiritually, especially since Manaan to prevent himself from dreaming. Force Empathy: The Ability to use the Force in order to determine how people are feeling, this ability is more of an innate one that someone is born with however through training he has honed it so that he is not constantly feeling other people's feelings and he can focus on one specific person to tell how they are feeling. However extreme bursts of emotions sometimes break through his mental barrier and hit him. Though also true, that when he loses focus in an event such as an anxiety attack his mental barrier breaks which can flood him with other people's emotions. Through careful use Force Empathy can be used in conjunction with Mind Control to alter how others are feeling. He has not dared use this ability since Manaan. Standard mind control rules apply. Force Illusion: Has the ability to create illusions in the Force. Most Force Users can likely see through them if they focus, he can only create small objects however. If he wishes to cast a larger illusion to affect an entire room it is just light manipulation. Biography: Koren was born on Eriadu, and found at a young age by the Jedi. Like most Jedi he was found by a Watchman and the will of the Force. He was barely old enough to walk when he was taken to the Jedi Temple. The Jedi trying to recruit as many as they could at an even younger age than usual to ensure that they did not fall into the hands of the Sith. As such he was sent to Coruscant to spend his infantile years in the Jedi temple there. Identical to most he was raised on the tenants of the Jedi, struggling like many children to not grow attached to others, however he always knew he was a part of something greater in being part of the Jedi order. Since his sixth birthday he was always slightly more observant than others. Unknowingly picking up on the feelings of others through the Force and acting on those feelings. When he discovered that this was a force ability, so much more seemed to make sense. All his life he had been able to determine how people had been feeling, fighting against it sometimes due to the fact that during meditation he could feel the fear, pain and anguish of the war going on. He came to accept it, choosing to train himself on how to use this ability to do good rather than let it hamper is progress or control him. He harnessed it as part of who he was and knew in his heart that he would become a better Jedi because of it. This got him under the watchful eye of Master Roln, one of the watchmen of the Kuat System. Immediately interested he kept tabs on the younglings training. Throughout the rest of his Jedi Training he focused on his study of people, many believed that he’d walk the line of a Diplomat. However he was invested in the Jedi cause, to do good where it was needed and to save lives and improve the order. In his mind a diplomat didn’t do that, these worries began to grow as he began to approach the Apprentice Tournament. What happened if his master didn’t follow the code as strictly as he did? What if he ended up having to fight on the front lines? Though he soon realized that these thoughts were themselves against the code for being selfish. Chastising himself for doing so unlike many of the other Initiates he spent his time leading up to the tournament in silent meditation, as he was always taught that to find his path he need only look the the Force for guidance. He opened his eyes afterwards with a fresh take on the Jedi Order, and the Code itself. While he had always followed the code he had never truly believed in it. He wasn’t quite sure but within that trance he realised that it was the way forward, a way to live by and to convince others (through nonviolent means) to follow it. For if everyone followed the Code there would be no war, no hatred. Only peace. In the trials this new state of mind became obvious to those who knew him, he moved without confliction. When sparring he always moved for disarming blows. At the end of the fight, when his opponent fell to the floor what he did surprised everyone. He turned off his blade, and offered his hand to his opponent helping him up. Though this was the first trial of many, and other than a test based on a board game to test one's ability to plan ahead and overcome any challenge he may face. Afterwards, his future master didn’t hesitate on selecting him. Jedi Knight Tadia Wren, having being previously informed of his possible skills by her former master, Thaun Roln, she had decided to take on a Padawan for the first time. His first years under her tutelage had little incident, working in the Manaan sector would do that. While there was always the necessity to keep an eye on the criminal underground and ensure that the Republic kept themselves in check while on the planet he had time to devote himself to his studies under her, as the war raged on throughout the Galaxy. She taught him her own favoured form of lightsaber combat, Makashi. The duelling form, specifically designed for taking out others wielding weapons similar to lightsabers. Over time he began to add a twist, whether he knew it or not he studied Tràkata. Turning off his blade at opportune moments when he could see that his master was putting force behind a swing so that when it met no resistance it would throw her off balance. However while his studies continued there was still the need to keep an eye on Manaan itself. He was trained both as a diplomat, and a spy. He was taught how to blend into crowds, keep out of sight and play a role in a disguise as even when working with the Republic citizens on Manaan they could not always be trusted. This is when he began to distrust the Republic, as he saw the issues that lay within the group. It was supposed to be the ideal system, ideal government. Yet there was still corruption and extortion within its ranks. At the age of eighteen he himself found a plot connecting a hotel owner and a Republic Officer in transporting of Illegally obtained Kolto. This was one of the situations he had to weigh carefully, and he even asked his master however she told him it was his decision to make. He would have to be the one to decide, both options had implications. If he did not take the deal to the Selkath council and they discovered it, and he didn’t apprehend the officer that could risk relations between the Selkath and the Republic possibly cutting off their supply of Kolto. If he did take it to the council they could lose valuable, life saving Kolto. Following what he believed to be the Force he went to the Selkath council after gathering evidence and apprehending the officer, then handing him over to the Selkath to deal with. While he may have gained an enemy, the choice he made he still believes is the right one. -- Later he discovered that this was his Trial of Insight, as he saw through the problem to find the solution. That left four to go, spirit he himself completed afterwards. In time of self reflection after capturing the corrupt officer he went into a meditative trance to determine if what he had done was truly the right thing to do. He spent time thinking about the code, and what it meant to him and the galaxy. When he opened his eyes again and stood up he once again had a clearer mind, this was his Trial of Spirit. However, the other trials would have to wait. As members of the Selkath who were responsible for Kolto Production had begun to have problems. The guards had memory loss, as did a lot of the high ranking members of the corporations responsible for Kolto. It was their families that contacted the council, who then contacted the Jedi. As they had been behaving strangely, leaning towards a less neutral position in the war. Occasionally indicating that Republic loss was inevitable. However they would slowly revert to normal, and then have another memory gap before they would get slightly more extreme in their beliefs. Requested to intervene by the Selkath council (while being accompanied by at least one Selkath each at any given time) due to the fact that many believed to use the Force in order to trick the guards to letting them in, and then forgetting the experience. The hunt took them over the breadth of the cities sitting atop the vast oceans and some that sat below. However eventually, when someone's family was kidnapped it led them back to the city and then to a warehouse right beside the spaceport on Ahto, the capital city. Upon entering he was hit by a cold, forbidding feeling. Upon querying his master she informed him that that was the feeling of the dark side. The initial plan called for them to call for backup however expanding himself in the force he could feel the pain and horror on the Selkath minds. Feeling the need for urgency they progressed into the facility. Two Sith resided in the facility and seemed to be trying to use the Force to alter enough Selkath minds to get Manaan to supply Kolto primarily to the Empire. Tadia and Koren offered them the chance to back down, and drop their weapons. However, they did not accept and a fight ensued. Both surpassed Koren in age and skill, however for a time while Tadia was fighting her opponent he managed to hold his own. Until his Sith, who was wielding two blades. Made a feint to stab one of the Selkath Koren moved off his centre and became distracted in order to see a telekinetic attack. Being sent against the wall, the Sith then sent a piece of apparatus towards him that slammed into his left knee, crushing it. The rest of the battle he waited for an opening, gritting his teeth through the pain. When he saw an opening he sent a beam on the floor into the head off the two sith - though only with enough force to knock them out, not to kill them. As the Sith were tried in a Manaan court (With Tadia present to ensure that no tampering occurred, to prevent the Sith Empire getting involved the two captured Sith insisted they operated on their own motives, without the order of the Empire) he was sent to H’Ratth for treatment of his knee. The medic, Lea, tried the best she could and several other healers attempted however his knee would never be the same it was. Despite that he feels that it was Lea and her determination that truly got him walking again, there’s nothing quite like a eleven year old forcing you to walk again. Upon arriving back at Manaan several weeks later, without a word as he passed his Master heading to his room she cut off his Padawan braid. The confrontation with the Sith, upon approval of the Jedi Council had been seen as his Trials of Courage, Flesh and Skill. With the need of a more experienced Watchman to take over the position of one who died in the Corellian Sector Tadia left, giving Koren her best wishes in protecting Manaan and keeping the people off it safe and peaceful. Nothing, overly, eventful happened for the next 5 years. He still heard tales of the war, Kolto was shipped and deals were made. He always kept an eye out for Sith tampering, or under the table deals. Though, three months ago things went wrong. More and more offworlders were arriving, and he knew something was amiss as they remained behind without leaving. He started his own investigation, he had his suspicions that they were Sith pretending that they weren’t which would be enough to get them under the radar of Manaan security forces, though he had to find proof first. When he was nearing the end of his investigation, the Sith Ships arrived. Demanding that they align with the Empire, Manaan tried to keep its neutrality. Be it as an example of why not to refuse, high tempers on the Siths behalf or anger that the previous plot as several years off manipulation should have had Manaan the perfect ground for taking they began to bombard the planet. He began rushing people towards the water, or towards ships. Whatever was closer, fire rained from the sky and the Sith he had been following received their own orders. Apparently trying to apprehend members of the Selkath species, for reasons he wasn’t too worried about figuring out at the time. He was torn between saving the lives of as many as he could and letting the Sith taken prisoners. He fought them where he could, sending out a request for help to the Republic to no avail. He saved captives where he could, however when the whole city began to break apart he had no choice but to leave. Commandeering one of the Sith Ships he filled it with as many survivors as he could, managing to break orbit under the guise of being a Sith vessel, following orders till the last moment where he veered away and made it away just before the fighter tail he acquired caught up with him. Reaching Coruscant the news shook everyone, without Manaan Kolto was a hot commodity. The Jedi healing became much more important, however it meant something else for Koren. He spent the next couple of months trying to keep to himself within the Jedi Temple. Some of the more warlike Jedi felt he should have done more, and that he failed. Some supported him, and called him a hero. He didn’t know what group was worse. For the first month he spent most of the time by himself. The Jedi Council considered sending him away, but felt that the possibility of a Sith Attack making Koren’s condition worse wasn’t worth the risk so instead kept him on Coruscant to give him time for his mental scars to heal through personal meditation and rest. The problem was that sleep was torture, so Koren eventually gave it up. Using the Force to refresh himself instead, thought of course that itself would begin to wear down and then he would have to sleep, only to be plagued by nightmares. Though, when Xid returned to the temple (Who he had previously met on Manaan) now almost a man he was asked to spar with him. He did, Koren’s style was different and with Xid likely to be undergoing the trials soon. They began training and Koren immediately knew something was different with him, something had happened. Though he himself had something he didn’t like to share, to talk about and Xid seemed to be one of the few to understand. Over the next two months, a friendship was formed. Even after Xid became a Knight they trained together, and Koren also taught Xid some of the more calming meditative techniques he had worked on over the years and is one of the few people to know that Koren often chooses simply not to sleep. Personality and/or Motivation: Quick of wit, and cocky. He has a strong desire to just help other people. He believes in the code fully and wholly and lives his life by it in order to make the Galaxy a better place, though doesn’t believe in killing people and will always capture rather than kill. Maim at the most, that way the opponent is out of the fight but the galaxy is not one life shorter. Often asked about why he choses to still eat meat, wild animals also embody the Force, he still eats meat as most worlds that produce food are made specifically for that purpose and as such animals are often given good, full lives. Since Manaan he’s mainly kept to himself, with the exception of Xid, Sela and a couple of others. Player’s long term goals: To develop new bonds, and work through the struggles of the trauma that Manaan caused with the character. Escape, naturally and not to succumb to the Dark Side. Though more importantly to have fun, that is my main goal. Relations: Sela - Sela was Xids Master, and obviously Koren ended up spending some time with her as well. Tadia - Tadia was his former master, and he will always feel a connection to her. She was the one that trained him everything he knew, however sometimes when he thinks of Manaan he wishes she taught him more. Lea Rahn: Lea has undying gratitude from Koren. As it was her who initially tried to heal his leg, and when everyone failed to get it back to its original state it was her determination that he drew upon to get back on his feet and back to work. However, he does feel some distrust towards her now on the ship. Her being from a Jedi Dynasty in a world where the Sith are trying to corrupt them using their emotions is… worrying. Shiri: Seemingly Capable, she needs to learn to control her emotions and not let them control her. Tolun-Fi: A good individual, calm, thoughtful. Though his neutrality is... disturbing. Nazca(Updated): Koren sees her strength, and wants to help her use it. He also feels somewhat sorry for her as she has only been at the temple for a couple of weeks maximum and has been forced into this. She is willing to learn, and let go of her past so Koren has hope she can get through this. Xid(Updated): The two of them share Trauma, have worked together before and as such have both helped eachother get through it. Yet the main difference is Xid has changed. Koren was proud of the Knight Xid was becoming... yet now he believes it may have been too soon as the young Knight appears to still have much to learn. Alat: Koren doesn't really know the other Jedi Knight, though right now he is very interested to get to know him. A Jedi that uses the Dark Side aboard this ship... Does not bode well. Nyiss: He hasn't met her personally, but he's heard about her and ofcourse he's sensed her presence. Such a powerful being should be respected, the fact that the Dark Side has not yet destroyed her is... interesting. Though in the end it will destroy her. Of that he has no doubt. Sish: The Trandoshan is a powerful individual, skilled more than he lets on. While he may appear to be a brute there is intelligence. Brutal intelligence yes, but intelligence none the less. Koren took one of his cybernetic eyes, and put up a good fight. It pains him to know that without a doubt, it isn't over between the two of them. Final Point - Secrets: His distrust with the Republic is deeper than his feeling of betrayal of the Jedi. He asked for help when the Sith Attacked but nobody came. This wasn’t even a battle it was an annihilation of most of the Selkath people, there wasn’t even a single Jedi that came to try and help evacuate. In terms of the Republic he has seen the corruption that lies within it through the people he has come into contact with, coupled with the sense of betrayal when they did not turn up to save Manaan there is a deep sense of resentment. In fact as such he does not see himself as a member of the Republic anymore, just a member of the Jedi Order.

Name: Egren Species: Drall Age: 31 Gender: Faction: Jedi Order Rank: Jedi Archaeologist Captive?
Appearance:

Notable Characteristics of Species:

Short, he himself is 0.9 metres tall.
His senses are slightly more acute than that of humans.

Flaws:

Gossip: Like most Drall, Egren is particularly prone to gossip.
Stature: While others of small height within the Jedi Order can compensate this with skill, speed and training Egren has never particularly cared for lightsaber training. Never doing more than necessary so in combat his size truly is a weakness. Lacking sufficient training to cause much damage against a skilled opponent.
Home: Egren has a strong sense of home, and can quite easily become agitated in environments that don’t feel right naturally. This is believed to come from the innate instincts that some other members of the Drall species encounter.
Record Keeper: Like most Drall, Egren records every little detail. It also means he picks up on almost every little detail making it easy for an enemy, if they get their hands on his records, to learn everything.
Nervous Disposition: Due to his diminutive stature and his past he does have somewhat of a nervous disposition which is made obvious by his rambling.

Skills:

Computer Skills:Reasonably proficient in Silicing.
Lightsaber Combat:Proficient in Soresu however has not spent much time on any other form.
Size: His size often aids him in getting him into hard to get places. While he requires his Jedi training to get him into hard to reach places.
History:Vast knowledge on Galactic History: Primarily between the Sith and the Jedi.
Record Keeper: Like most Drall, Egren records every little detail. It also means he picks up on almost every little detail making it easy to recollect information.
Psychometry: He has an innate ability in psychometry, which over the years he has honed.
Comprehend Speech: With training, and concentration, he can understand what others are saying even if they are not speaking Galactic Basic.

Biography:
Egren was born on Drall, one of the worlds within the Corellian system. His parents were simple record keepers, as far as he was ever told. From a young age Egren seemed to be affected by the objects around him, brand new objects he always seemed to be able to enjoy however hand me downs and anything not explicitly meant for him could gain some form of strange reaction out of the youngling. His parents used to think it was just him being picky however even the toys that he previously liked, if anything negative had happened at all while someone was handling them would then cause a negative reaction and would then never be used again. At the age of two his parents had him secured away, and all of a sudden a toy fell of a nearby shelf and continued to shake and edge it’s way closer to him ever so slightly. With the war raging on and the perfect records kept by the Drall the proof was undeniable. Their son was what many in the Galaxy knew to be Force Sensitive. In a sense of duty, they never before knew they packed up all of their son's belongings and paid for charter to Coruscant. While a Corellian temple did exist they knew well enough the difference between the Corellian Jedi and the Jedi who inhabited the rest of the Galaxy, deciding that the best course of action was to send him to join the main Jedi Order. They walked him to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant themselves. All they got from the Temple Guard was an assurance that he would be tested and then trained. Though if he was trained they would never see him again, so they should be prepared to say goodbye to him now. They did. It was an emotional affair as they bid goodbye to their son for the last time. Not even knowing if it would be the last time. That unknowing was likely what made it so difficult. It was the last time. The Jedi who tested him all agreed that he was indeed Force Sensitive, without delay he was moved into the ThrantaClan and his new life began. However it wasn’t without it’s links to his own life, his problem remained. Items with significant history, or negative history altered his behaviour causing significant difficulties. The source of this remained elusive throughout his years as an infant, where the only real training he received was in motor control and language. In time, as he began to receive training in the Force he managed to aptly describe why objects affected him in the way only the Jedi understood. On touching of an object, quite often he would catch a vision of something that happened in that object's past. Typically something centred around strong emotion or a strong individual, it didn’t make sense. But to the Jedi it did, often interactions in the galaxy left ripples in the Force. Ripples that could be left upon objects and it was entirely possible for someone attuned to the Force to be able to read these ripples and see their point of origin. Egren was one of these individuals. The discovery of this, allowed him to be trained in control. Control for other Younglings relied merely on emotions, control over one's self. For Egren it was slightly more complicated, while he could control his own emotions he also had to ensure that the level of control was full enough that the emotions of others imprinted on objects could not influence him. Those gifted with psychometry had a history of turning to the dark side, emotions of objects… the memories and feelings of what happened overpowering. And so, he trained. Throughout his years as a youngling he found himself drawn to information, and his trait of having a loose tongue made him willing to share this knowledge with anyone that came along asking for it. Many Younglings would spend their time within the meditation halls or training arenas, but he spent his days in the archives. The wealth of information amazed him, how the Jedi had ever lost a single confrontation with the Sith was beyond him. The Jedi had all this knowledge at their disposal and more than he could likely ever read. Surely if the Jedi could learn all they could about their adversary victory would be within their grasp, and so he dedicated himself to the pursuit of knowledge. This dedication to the pursuit of knowledge first, and the Jedi Order second brought doubt and concern whether or not he would pass the Initiate Trials. While most Initiates were broken hearted at such a revelation, Egren was not. While if he failed he could never become a true Jedi Knight he would still be able to help the order and do good throughout the Galaxy. Shortly after, along came the trials and he passed. He may not have excelled at the physical aspects but he passed and even impressed a Mon Calamari Jedi named Karbin Vreel. With a war on many Jedi Knights did not take a large portion of their Padawans into active conflict zones, many Padawans felt that avoiding the conflict was skirting their duty however this did not bother Egren. Egren and his master instead had a different purpose during the war, the Sith had somehow came out of nowhere suddenly. With an impressive force capable of going toe to toe with the might of the Republic. While this had remained a secret there were bound to be imprints, shadows of the Siths actions before the battle of Korriban. Karbins investigatory skill and Egrens interest in the past made them applicable to be one of the many pairings given this task of finding the footprints they left behind. They started in the mid-rim, passing from world to world looking for any traces of the Sith in previous wars. Any information was good information. Their enemy while being brutal and relentless were also secretive. The truth behind the Sith Empire and the Sith Order were still shrouded in mystery. How had they come to be so many? Who was their leader? What was their past? Him and his master spent the next five years searching, until eventually there search lead them to the Lenico System. Questions were again being raised about the validity of Exal Kressh’ information, and if she had indeed turned traitor to the Emperor what other kind of material she may have left behind. On the remaining space stations, there was nothing. They could all remember when Colony Blue fell from orbit and into the planet however very few beings knew that the reason being was a fight between a Sith-traitor and the Sith. That meant if they were going to salvage any information they would need to venture down to the planet itself. It was hot, and arid. The ash disturbed by their feet made the air hard to breath. It wasn’t exactly the easiest of planets to search. Yet they wouldn’t give in. They spent days, then weeks combing the wreckage for anything useful. All they found were the remains of those who had either died when the ship was falling, died when it crashed or had survived the crash and then died of exposure. It was a mess. Just when they were about to give up they came across the chamber that Exal Kressh had used. Seeing no choice Egren ran his hands over every surface trying to pick up any sense of memory… that is the last thing he remembers on Lenico IV. Waking up in a medical bed two days later, feeling cold to the core. He couldn’t remember what he had seen but whatever it was… he didn’t want to see anything like that again. He always felt that Psychometry was his greatest gift, but with the darkness that had flooded his mind… it could be both a gift and a curse. He chose that day that he would exhaust every other option from that moment forth, before resorting to the easy (yet more dangerous) path. The next six years, through his trials as a Padawan Learner he devoted himself to understanding. Though no-more would he try to use the Force to read a piece of parchment to learn it’s story, he would instead learn the languages and texts of the Galaxy. As many as he could cram into his cranium, in order to try and learn the mysteries of the Sith. He again, neglected his physical studies for those of the more intellectual sort. On the day he faced his trials of Knighthood there was some serious concern as to whether or not he would be strong enough for the trials ahead, but as per usual nobody really knew what trials awaited him and so with his head held high… he entered the Trials of Knighthood. Where he would truly become a member of the Jedi Order. The trial lasted five nights, during this time Egren was not seen or heard from by the Knights set to watch the chamber in which his trials took place. They had no idea what was going on, and when he emerged his Padawan braid had been cut and for one of the first times in his life his presence in the Force was not fidgety, it was strong and firm. He truly had become a Jedi Knight, and so he was ready for the next step. A job he and a few others felt was truly important. The acquisition of powerful objects that were spread across the galaxy, one of the lead instigators and the only one Egren filed all his research notes too was a Kaminoan called Tolun Fi. So Egren was given a ship, a task and some notes. With his ability of psychometry he was set out after a rumoured Kyber Crystal large enough to channel vast amounts of energy, it being too dangerous to place him in contact with objects closely attuned to the dark side, the use of which could make the systems of a single ship vastly superior to any others of its class or power something bigger. The Crystal itself had rumoured to be found by some form of rogue Jedi who had grown fed up of the ways of the Republic hundreds of years ago, hoping to use it to somehow liberate the Jedi from the Republic’s influence. His first stop was Galantos, it made some lick of sense. The ever changing tectonic plates on the planet and moving land masses made it a perfect place to hide something you didn’t want to be found. It was also close to the Galactic Centre. Trickier to get too as hyperspace calculations took longer but also wasn’t where you would typically expect someone to go trying to flee the Republic. The logical assumption would be that someone would head out into the Expansion Region and beyond, from what he had learned on this Jedi… he was naught but ordinary. Thus Galantos was the first stop on his journey to find the crystal. Trudging through the gel, with the ever moving tectonic plates wasn’t exactly… glamorous. Though it didn’t have to be. Galantos was one of the oldest communities in the Galaxy! It’s records were truly exquisite, and quite thorough. In fact he was quite sure he could have spent months poring over all the data however sadly he wasn’t here for the pleasure. Instead he was looking for something in particular. All he had were maps, and rumours. The rumours weren’t very useful being thousands of years old and the maps… were more than useless. It was pure timing that six months into his search he got his first lead on the hunt for the crystal. He had finally received a lead. A solid one: A date, time and location. After months of research his ship hovered over the apparent location of the crystal. He could sense the distortions in the Force, after months it all made sense. Of course a simple location wouldn’t work on Galantos the constant shift of the tectonic plates made finding anything below the surface near impossible. However obviously whoever had set this up knew a way how to get back to their hideout, he had just been lucky enough that this year had the same orbit as it had for the rogue Jedi hundreds of years ago. Jumping from the cockpit into the gel layer as he noticed the hidden facility he was soon met with disappointment. This… facility was no more than a ship. He also didn’t need to get a good look at it to realize the crystal wasn’t there. It had been, that much was obvious he could sense its presence despite the thing it likely had not been present for years. Such a strong resonance in the Force was hard to hide, especially up close. So he closed his eyes, and let the feeling wash over him. Walking up to the hole in the hull and placing his hand on a specific part. Letting the Force be his guide, touching the spot that years ago the thief had. He saw a world, tropical and yet, dry… forested. He could feel the heat hitting him. Then he saw someone, green eyes… tall… humanoid and yet, reptilian. It took him several minutes to place the species as an Arconian, the time it took him he was pretty ashamed at in all honesty. So he left Galantos behind, vowing to one day return in order to try and solve its many mysterious. Though for now he had to follow the trail, he was behind… far behind whatever adversaries had taken the crystal from its resting place. For the next four years, he travelled from world to world always on the hunt. From Cona he travelled to Gyndine in the hunt for a pirate who betrayed a prospector, then Cyrillia where the pirate intended to sell the crystal for power generation. Though as it turned out a business man had had other plans for the crystal at the time, Rhommamool proved to be a useful hiding place amongst the criminals and the junk however it was not to be. Without even realizing the cargo a couple of thieves banded together to steal the executives ship, seeing it as their way of the god forsaken planet. They had apparently travelled down the Corellian Run to the planet Milagro where they, finding the cargo. Sold their ship for a profit before going their separate ways. This was where the trail got difficult for a while. The crystal was moved to another ship and the records had apparently been tampered with in order to try and conceal whoever had taken the crystal. He ended up chasing several dead ends to nearby systems always returning back to Milagro when it didn’t pan out in the hopes of picking up the real trail. He was finally lead to Leritor, a world rich in minerals and artifacts. Despite the fact that he was technically on the hunt for a weapon that could be used to destroy the Sith, or in the hands of the Sith destroy the Republic. He lingered, feeling that whatever artifacts that were left here could prove invaluable to his research upon the Sith. Fearing that the Jedi Order would just destroy these objects before he learned their true value, their true meaning. He decided to take them with him in a secure compartment on his ship both Jedi and Sith artifacts alike, choosing to instead learn as much as he could from them before handing them over. His path, however, did not stop on Leritor. It went through Koiogra, Hypori, Gaulus and even through the fire storms of Ryloth where he finally got the big break that he had been looking for. Tatooine, the desert wasteland. A world in the middle of nowhere and frequented by criminals and their ilk. After a couple of months combing the deserts, probably the best place to hide anything, he decided that this remote world could be something more than just a means to an end. It could be a sanctuary for him, and if Tolun Fi could find any that shared their view then it could be a sanctuary for them. It took months in amongst his searching but he took care to hide his artifacts in two locations. The one with Jedi origins he kept close, the ones with Sith origin he kept in a separate location. Not only did he want to keep a potentially valuable resource safe from those more… zealous than he he couldn’t stand being around objects with such a dark past all the time. His primary concern, was still the finding of the crystal. He still didn’t exactly know what it was for but Tolun Fi had plans for that crystal. Some way to stop the Sith once or for all. Part of it seemed like a pipe dream but he knew the Kaminoan well enough to know that if anyone could perform an extraordinary feat of science it was likely going to be him. He kept contact to a bear minimal, only sending the occasional transmission to Tolun Fis lab. An update on his search or some piece of historical information that he felt could prove potentially useful. Five years since arriving on Tatooine, and he doesn’t even know the Temple has been attacked. Not aware that the Republic is offering a peace treaty to the Sith Empire. He just keeps on digging.
Personality and/or Motivation:
Egren is insanely curious about the past, and how things work. Not so much machinery but civilizations, people. He has spent more of his life researching than he has living. Though if asked about it he would ascertain that in order to know what path to choose you need to know what ones have already been walked. Knowledge is his life, and he always wants to learn as much as he can. Everything else comes second to that, but don’t let that fool you. He’s still a Jedi at heart and he believes that everything he learn can help the cause of the Jedi in order to re-establish peace and prosperity to the Galaxy. However, that is a two way street and he also sees his being a Jedi as a door to information he usually wouldn’t be able to get.
Player’s long term goals:
As [@Ellri] will know. Egren started as something a little bit different, a little bit… Spontaneous and the more and more I worked the character the more I planned it out in my head and really enjoyed what he was becoming. So my long term goals are essentially for Egren to live, past that… all bets are off.
Relations:
Tolun Fi: Egren has followed the fellow scholars work, and has respect for him for gaining the prestige he has while still being able to focus upon his studies. Xid: If you know Tolun Fi, it is likely you have at least heard of Xid. Of course his contact with the temple has been fleeting over the past couple of years, but he knows that some of the equipment that he has been sent has originated from the young Technopath. -OpenToSuggestions-
Final Point - Secrets:
Egren would likely, to a degree, accept the teaching of a Sith if it was geared towards a more historical aspect. His curiosity can easily get the better of him, and with his love for all things old (As in artifacts you bunch of crudes) he may not be able, if given the right temptation, to stop himself from using his psychometry on Sith objects. Something that could be quite… dangerous.
