In the 'Notable Events' tab it says:

As the Kingdom has grown and it's armies become more deadly, dragons have appeared less and less. Some people say they have continued to see dragons in the mountains, the Far North and the Grey Islands, but nothing has been verified.[/quote]

Lady Buxton is his daughter, but she was only about 5 years old when the last seen dragon was killed. The vast majority of people in the Northern Lands (at least as far as the Kingdom of Vasili is concerned) will not have seen a dragon in their lifetime. 

Also, seems like a good chance to clarify a point: 'The Northern Lands' encompasses everything on the map in the wiki, including the Kingdom of Dawn. Dawnish people still refer to those across the channel as Northerners, just as the people of Vasili refer to the tribesmen as Northerners. But they are all Northerners as far as the bigger picture is concerned. After all, the world of Olympus is roughly the same size as Earth and the Kingdom of Vasili is only roughly the size of Spain+Portugal.
