The fun part of roleplaying is working out [i]why[/i] a character might do something that seems out of character. Maybe it's a chance to relax. Maybe they regard it as a duty. Maybe it's relief that things aren't more dangerous, or even simply "I'll get in trouble if I don't". The whole fun of a roleplay is not being able to predict exactly what's going to happen or why.
