As far as a reason to trust her went, Metou would find it hard to believe that a woman who didn't know they were coming would intend to take advantage of them, unless she was working for the Ki Witch, in which case they probably wouldn't be in any more danger than they already are. Besides, Metou was secretly hoping to score some free musical accompaniment on their journey.
