So my reviews are probably going to be the least professional here, and I, personally, have no problem with that. Professionalism is for scrubs.

I mean, if you're happy with that lifestyle and you aren't an awful person, then good for you-- I don't mean that you specifically are a scrub-- unless you are, in which case okay.

Getting back on point-- my reviews are going to be very laconic, mostly ignore grammar and punctuation, so long as I get the point, and feature a 1-10 ranking system based solely on my opinion. I value concepts, hidden themes, motifs, character development, surrealism, silly phantasmagorias and decent plot and interesting dialogue-- internal or external WAY more than any technical aspects or prose you throw at me-- so know that.

Like, if you wrote a hard sci-fi story, and I give it a -4/10 and say it's shit-- it probably isn't actually shit, I just think it's shit-- and who am I? Just some loser on the internet. Keep writing you aspiring Asimov.

[i]The Ugly:[/i] Jesus Christ Pheonix is the luckiest, most hardened, most boring Katniss ever. I obvs got some real Hunger Games vibes from this, as well as possibly Ender's Game and of course Battle Royale. 

I think it's fine to write a story inspired by those things, but, I don't know, I wish the world and the people who occupied it were more established-- of course, you could be keeping us in the dark on purpose-- just like how the only things we know about Pheonix is that she seems pretty desensitized and she's INSANELY lucky. 

Like, and I wonder if that relates to her name-- or rather, her code name-- she's got this god like, mystical luck, enough so that magical shit like guns jamming just HAPPENS for her, and she isn't even phased by this stuff. Each encounter is basically her getting lucky, and moving on. This creates an interesting dichotomy between her own autonomy and power of figuratively 'rising from the ashes' of each encounter and her lack of power in that she's basically been bred to have this stoic, drone like mentality in the service of the Delta Squad-- who we know BASICALLY nothing about, I mean, except that they're okay with having kids kill kids so they can go fight... aliens...??? we're probably left in the dark on purpose tho.

I wonder if the Greek motif of Pheonix and Delta was intentional? Either way, neat little story, could have done with more character intention and description of interactions tho.
