A desert was hardly the ideal location for close combat. In addition a side arm is going to have limited effectiveness due unpredictable desert winds and possible variables in the air itself... Zeph's thoughts began to try and build an idea on how to react in the rather strange local. Constantly she found herself trying to account for shifting sands in a situation that would require fast motions to react, but without actual experience in desert combat it was a fruitless waist of thought. Instead of needlessly dwelling on her thoughts she had instead chose to calm her excited mind. It made it far easier for her to with hold the overwhelming anticipation she had been feeling. As Nau led the group she opted to stay towards the back of the group, the unease of trusting strangers with her back...It just didn't sit well with her. "I think it would have been worse had we been at a beach. Out here at least the sounds do not muddle our own communication...However shifting sands do make for a good ambient cover." Zeph did feel a slight bit of catastrophic tension as her clothes almost instantly felt constricting. Missing the skirmish earlier had left her unnaware of how much these garments would interfere with her more aggressive movement. Worst case scenario she could use the knife to cut the sleeves and slits in the legs, but this would likely....Zeph pressed on her temple as if it had a switch that would end her pointless hypothetical situations. Her boots sank into the sand, far softer than the Alda...who had been what looked to be stomping? Zeph opted to hold her tongue and wait for Nau's next instruction.
