Named for the rare flower that blooms here, the isle is made mostly of marshland and lush forests. It was once home to powerful mages and wealthy lords, with a total population of about 4000. War claimed most of its soil, leaving the isle in ruins. Since then, use of the weave has been drastically limited. Anjoel was among the elders in the mage community. He was a very powerful sorcerer, and like most with tainted hearts, he craved power. When war erupted, Anjoel was among the first to volunteer for the front lines. He had a vision for a new world, where mages ruled supreme. And would do whatever it took to see his vision, his dreams, to fruition. There were a few that followed him in his beliefs, among them was his most prized pupil, Jeltheor. Swords clashed, power surged from the mages against those who opposed them. Soon the land was stained red, the color seeping almost into the waters that surrounded the island. The dark mages claimed defeat and what was left of them went into hiding. In fact, Most who were skilled within the weave disappeared. Their reputation was nearly destroyed and magic had become feared by all who lived here. Bordering the northern edge are the Grey Scale Mountains, it's peaks nearly reaching the clouds. The dangerous terrain isn’t the only thing to ward off travelers. The Grey Dragons lurk within its caves, attacking any who dare climb the spires. There are only two left after war scorched the island, but they remain as deadly as ever. The mountain tops platea to what is known as ‘Death’s Peak’, the cliff slamming against the shore line as a rigid line between land and sea. As the mountain melts into the land, trees spread their roots and branches, expanding across most of the isle. A vast mix of forest and marshland keep the mountains dangers from those of the island. Waeldeshore is a port town, sitting at the southeast end of the island, and one of the few places that did not crumble within the war’s wake. Responsible for nearly all of traded goods on the island, Waeldeshore actually became quite wealthy in the years following. Lord-Marshal Weyland oversees the town and all of it’s inhabitants. The town makes up most of the island’s population, especially now after the war. Marked by its cobblestone streets, cluster of buildings, and boisterous crowds, it separates itself from the rest of the isle as a much more industrious setting. Recently, strange things have been happening in town. People suddenly disappearing, demons popping up, extreme weather changes, etc. Some occurrences have been subtle, noticeable only to a few, while others raised concern of even the Lord-Marshal and his council who suspect it all to be the work of the powerful mage named Jeltheor. The Lord Marshal has ordered extra guards on duty, extra patrols throughout the town, even a curfew was issued, encouraging all to stay indoors after sundown. But there are whispers of another war erupting. Rumors of an army gathering, with one intention - to set Waeldeshore aflame. In the name of self preservation or as an act to save the town, your character will battle the demons set free by Jeltheor. Can you save Waeldeshore? Can you stay alive? Hello inhabitants of neverland, and thank you all for joining. This is my first ever rp to be created, so please bear with me. There are a couple of people contributing to the story, however I consider this a collaboration between all involved. I'm just getting out of a crazy schedule, was working 2 jobs, but now I'm down to 1, so I should be able to be here quite often. But if you cannot make regular posts for whatever reason, just pm me. General Tips and Rules 1.) No power playing. Please don't make your character all powerful, or make them never get hit. You need to remember a tiny bit of fair realism. It's not fair or fun to play that way. 2.) No god modding. The playing of other people's characters is confusing and quite annoying, so don't do it. It's also obviously unfair. This is unless you have permission from that player (PM them), then it's obviously alright if you've asked permission when you want something to happen to them or want to control them in some way 3.) This is a free form roleplay, though I will be guiding the overall plot along with special events and so forth. Other than that the only moderator duties I have are approving characters/weapons/powers and responding to disciplinary complaints "He's spamming/flaming/god-modding/being an asshole/etc.", which hopefully, i won't have to. If you have any questions at all feel free to PM me, I always enjoy hearing what you all have to say. Basically, don’t be a douche, try to write properly (use a word doc if necessary, thats what I do >.< ) and have fun. My aim is to create something amazing with you all that will continue on for a while. Characters: All general classes are welcome, including mages. Your character can be a native of the island or a traveler to the town. Mages are absolutely allowed, but understand that creating a mage will have consequences as natives are very weary of the craft. Your character can be of any alignment, but understand, that one way or another, you'll have to work together to stay alive. You can make up to 3 characters though it isn't necessary to have more than 1 if you're not comfortable with it. At the end of each post, please mention the characters in which the scene involves ([@mention]) And again. If you have any questions, just pm me :) happy rp'ing!
Name: Your character’s name, including any aliases or nicknames that they preferred to be called Race: Playable races for this rp are human, elf, gnome, half orcs, gnoll, dwarf, halfling. Half breeds are allowed (half-elf). Elves typically have subraces (high elf, wood elf, dark elf (drow), snow elf, etc.) If you wish to make one, please pm me. These are the only races that will be accepted. Age: (Make sure your character's age makes sense given the rest of your sheet. You're rather unlikely to meet any 16 year old master wizards, just as you're unlikely to meet any 70+ year old warriors in active duty. If you're playing a race that lives beyond the typical human lifespan (like elves, for example) then obviously these restrictions won't exactly apply to you, but still try to keep things reasonable.) Gender: Male or Female Appearance: (In at least one paragraph, describe your character's appearance, including eye color, hair color and style, body build, height, skin color, scars/tatoos/birthmarks, etc. A picture will suffice, but please make sure to denote any differences from your envisioned appearance and the actual picture in text. Please avoid pictures that are too modern or otherwise don’t fit the setting.) Clothing/Armor: (In at least one paragraph, describe your character's preferred style of dress. Remember that the setting is medieval fantasy, so please avoid modern clothing or something that is otherwise out of place. A picture will suffice, and it may be the same picture as your appearance, but please make sure to outline the parameters of your armor (if applicable) in text. Remember that the more protective armor is, the more it restricts movement.) Weapons: (Describe the weapons your character carries with them on a regular basis. You may include pictures if you wish, although as long as you’re clear enough it’s not entirely necessary. In this section, you must also describe where your character keeps their weapons. In case your character is caught off guard or restrained in some way, it’s much more believable that they could quickly draw their dagger if it was sheathed at their waist than if it was at the bottom of a cluttered backpack, after all. This is for the sake of consistency. For weapons like bows or crossbows that require bolts or arrows, make sure to note how many arrows your character keeps on them on a regular basis and where.) Alignment: (Which of the nine alignments does your character tend toward to? Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic Good/Neutral/Evil? If you don't know what these are, a quick google can help. Note that few characters are consistently faithful to their alignment and may deviate from it at any time.) Skills/Abilities: (Describe your character's abilities, if applicable. This includes combat ability (weapon proficiency, martial arts etc excluding magic) as well as general trade skills like blacksmithing, carpentry, farming, hunting, fishing, tailoring, and medicine (to name just a few). Basic skills like cooking or sewing, for example, need not be listed here unless your character is exceptionally good at them. Miscellaneous skills and attributes that are unique to your character should also be listed here. If you have any questions about what should and shouldn't go here, ask a GM.) Magic: (If your character possesses magical or supernatural abilities, please describe them here in detail. There are many different methods of spellcasting in the fantasy genre, I've described the 'weave' to some and have also left a link for the forgotten realms link if anyone is interested. Please make sure to describe the source of your character's magical abilities, whether it be their own internal "mana", magical runes, alchemical ingredients, wands, spellbooks, artifacts, talismans, or some contract with a deity or spirit (these are just a few examples). Certain magical abilities are generally considered off-limits for the sake of balance, such as time manipulation, teleportation, invincibility and total mind control. You can include a spell list, but this is not by any means required and you may take a more general approach to this description if you wish.) Backstory: (In at least two decent length paragraphs, detail your character's life up until this point. Make sure to explain why your character is in Waeldeshore presently. If you wish to keep your backstory secret, you must message a GM about it beforehand to ensure it's reasonable and acceptable.)
Please submit your character here first for approval. I will create the setting in my first post which I'll put up when we have enough characters to start.
