"Hmm?" Soreth placed his cup back down after taking a sip. "Well, okay, I guess." "Ah...where should I start?" He thought for a moment, biting his lip in concentration. "I was born to the former great King and Queen Dizoralth 19 years and some months ago. I don't have any siblings, though I've always wondered what it would be like to have a brother or a sister. Then again, maybe it's better this way; possible political disputes aside, I don't think I'd be a very good sibling." He took another sip of his tea before he continued. "I've been training to take over since I was pretty young. My mother taught me a lot of my magic before she died in battle. My father had a pretty rough time with that. Bonded demons tend to have it very difficult when one end of their link just vanishes, but you know how that goes. I was worried he'd go, too, but he somehow managed to stick around for a bit longer." He shrugged. "Maybe it's some kind of inherited luck after all." He frowned a bit as he thought back on the whole situation. "I remember that I was really sick that year, so I spent a lot of my time just trying to recover from one problem or another. I wasn't even here most of the time after the whole thing, but my father came to visit me a lot more then. There was a place where I'd stay sometimes near the southern sea when things got particularly bad so I would recover more easily. I haven't been there in close to a year now, not even to visit. It would be nice to find some time to do that eventually, though. There are some people there I'd like to see again. Friends and such. But that probably won't happen for a while. Not until we have things a bit more secure around here with the change of rulers."
