The man, checking a chrono on his wrist lifted his cowl to reveal a protocol droid. A standard C-3 series. Tadia herself was somewhat insulted, feeling it all a joke she was about to leave when the droid spoke with an human like voice. It must be a decoy, so that any of them (or anyone else) planning to kill him would end up wasting their time. Not to mention it gave him amenity. She was further intrigued and pissed off at her employer. "Gentlemen, ladies-" The droid bowed its head slightly. "-I apologies for not being able to meet with you in person. However you should know that in your lines of work sometimes one has to take... precautions." The droid did a jittery nod at one of the Weequays near the end of the line, who slid out a holoprojector into the no-mans land between the two groups. A planet appeared in a hologram. "This is Belona. I doubt many of you have heard of it. Outer-rim world, previously a mining colony however the Empire have turned it into a pretty good prison." The image panned out, showing several blips in orbit. "It's defended by an Venator Star Destroyer and a Victory star destroyer as well as several smaller picket ships that come and go on patrol or to drop off prisoners or supplies. The main thing that's interesting about this little mudpuddle is the fact it has a planetary shield covering the entire planet, and it is only opened in one location-" The map zoomed and an area was highlighted, several satellites could be seen hovering in a rough scare shape. "These relays allow them to drop the shield in this specific area, it's both an ingenious and stupid move. Ingenious in the fact it's the first design of it's kind, stupid because it gives us an area to target. I want you to go in, pick up an individual and bring her back alive. However if she's dead I need you to bring back any datapads she may have in her vicinity. However she's a tech specialist so don't try tampering them or you'll delete all the data. Twenty Five Thousand credits up front, one hundred thousand when the jobs done and there will be plenty more jobs after this one." Tadia just let a little laugh escape her lips. Yeah, hopefully several of their comrades wouldn't make the return trip meaning all the more for her. "One last thing-" Of course there was one last thing. "The target is likely within one of the mines, now the material in these mines is very... unique. It emits a radiation that drains all electronics. Your blasters, huds, comms, everything will be useless when you get in there. That is unless you've somehow broken into the Emperors toy vault and took some stuff you shouldn't have, which I know none of you have." One of the Houk moved and opened the crate, in it were several boxes with devices within them that looked like they could attach to a variety of objects. "These devices can power anything you need to use. But they only hold a half hours charge max so use them sparingly. They're also experimental so overuse them at your own peril. Any questions?" "You said twenty five?" Tadia butting in, first one to speak. "Yes, I did.""I want forty up front, extra risk. Extra pay." The man just sighed. "Thirty is the highest I go, you know it's a good deal and if you don't think it is you can leave.""Deal." She didn't say anything else, she knew he'd never go for forty. Though it was always nice to get some extra money. To be perfectly honest with this material whatever it was she was quite intriguied to go on this mission. What was this stuff? How comes the Empire didn't use it more often? Also why turn the planet into a prison?
