None of few individuals that have encountered Saira during her continuing journey can claim that they can understand her thoughts or motivations. She appears to only desire to aimlessly wander forward, guided by the brilliance of the Sun's light, to whatever fate she is destined for. Having no memories of her past before being afflicted with the curse of the undead, Saira does not fear the eventual loss of what remains of her humanity. Instead, she accepts this an ultimately inevitable fate that she must someday encounter. However, rather than lose her humanity to despair and accept fate as a Hollow like many other Undead, Saira chooses to follow the only thing left in the world that continues to live forever, with eternal incandescence: the Sun, hoping to find some residual purpose in her life before her eventual end. Arsenal Saira owns no items of worth, power, or value, other than than her Katana. She does not remember why she carries the Katana, only that it was her only companion during her journey. Her only other possessions include her tattered clothes and pieces of leather armor pillaged from various Hollows. Magical Traits Saira has no innate magical potential or ability, and owns no items with any magical properties. However, with her strong faith and reverence for the Sun, she is able to cast the Great Lightning Spear miracle during times of need. Biography Little is known about Saira's past, even to herself. Her earliest remaining memory is endlessly following the guiding light of the sun, wandering towards the light that could never be caught, for a reason unknown to herself. It was during this seemingly unending journey that she eventually forgot the reason for her travelling, aimlessly wandering the lands. Without sense of purpose and reason to persevere, Saira's spirit began to weaken and despair as her soul rapidly declined towards a hollowing state. Before the last echoes of hope and humanity left her weakened soul, Saira found herself standing within the ruins of a broken-down temple, with the Altar of Sunlight standing tall before her. However, Saira was not alone within the temple. There, at the base of the Altar, lay a dying and broken soul, mere steps from fully Hollowing from despair. Upon realizing it was the final remaining scraps of Humanity left within this nameless traveler's soul that drew her towards the temple, it was then Saira realized that she had become much more Hollow than Human. To her surprise, Saira was met with unexpected joy and gratitude from the dying traveler, who confessed his realization that in his blind reverence for the Sun, he had mindlessly followed the Sun with every step of his travels. Each day, he would follow the Sun from east to west as it rose into the sky, only to travel back towards the east, as it rose again the very next day. All this in the hopes of eventually hold the radiance of the Sun in his own hands. In his last moments as a human, the traveler spoke these words to Saira: "The Sun, as beautiful and radiant as it is, is something that can never be caught, never held, never cherished. Therefore, it is complete foolishness to even try. To do so is futile, and will only lead to anguish and despair. Perhaps... the Sun is something that is not to be caught, but something that guides. But.. to where? However, such words are meaningless, for I have already reached the end of my journey. But you... you have the strength to continue onwards. I recognize that gleam in your eyes, the same look that I once had. While I am still human, I beg you to use that sword in your grasp to end my life as a human, for I do not wish to see myself turn hollow. In return, I offer you the remains of my humanity. Take it, and follow the guiding light of the shining Sun. Praise... the Sun." Honoring the traveler's last words and wishes, Saira took what remained of the traveler's humanity for herself, and set her sights towards the west, were the Sun journeyed to with each passing day.
