Kids are SO, SO MEAN AND DIRECT. I remember being 5 or 6 at the movie theater, standing in line with my mom behind a man with one leg who used crutches. I leaned over and asked her why he only had one leg--I'd never seen that before and I guess my kid self was a little freaked out?--and I will never forget when he glanced back and made eye contact, just for a second, while my mom scolded me.
