Derek entirely ignored Jess, he wasn't about to interrupt his playing for some trivial question. He listened, to the violin, instantly turning off the amp. Violin was clearly the sexiest instrument ever, he looked up at the violinist skeptically, it was also very versatile. He strode up to Tahlia, his tail flickering more as he approached. "Hey, I'm Derek, you play well, you could probably join our band." Then a thought entered his mind. [i]"Nobody wants to join a nameless band, it's just lame."[/i] He shrugged it off, noticing that his tail was emitting a thick purple smoke as it flailed madly. 

"I'm gonna go over and play more guitar." He mumbled something quietly as he walked away, his tail calming down entirely. He plugged his guitar back in, messing with the dials a bit until his guitar produced a heavy, muddy sound. He started to play a grungey song, humming to himself as he tapped his foot.
