A low amount of radiation allegedly leaves some ghouls feeling "healthier". However, with the insanely high levels in the river, a ghoul would certainly go feral, [i]and[/i] be turned into a 'glowing one'. The Mississippi is about a half mile wide (or 800 meters) in most places, assuming that a ghoul could swim that far through strong currents, they'd be absorbing 2000 rads per second [i]at the least[/i] while in the water.
