Curtis watched Crystal's reaction to being unable to leave. "This is nonsense. I never asked either of you to share your lovely secrets with me -- though I appreciate it. It's pretty cool." She said casually while making hand gestures. "But whether I have abilities like you or not, it is my choice if I should share it with you. Just like you made a choice to share yours." Crystal stood up straight and crossed her arms, trying her best not to glare at him. "Your secret is safe with me. If I break my word, you can easily hurt me, right? So why worry?" She asked him seriously without breaking eye contact. "Now I have a job to get back to. I'd appreciate it if you let me leave." Curtis was about to let her leave, but then he felt something. It was getting colder, and the temperature was dropping lower and lower. A small smile spread across his face. Ash was right. They had found someone like them. "Well, isn't that just interesting. Decided to bring something to show n' tell after all, huh?" For a moment he looked to Curt and mouthed 'I fucking told you so'. She wasn't looking at either of them anymore, her gaze turned downward, internal. She was now battling with herself which would be a nice breather. Curtis was starting to get really cold. He could clearly see breath, and his teeth had involuntarily begun to chatter. "You too cold, Curt? You can hop on out. It's a little too balmy in here for myself. Might break a sweat soon." "So, you do something with ice then? Can't have you going out there if you're gonna freeze all the regulars. You're already turning dear ol Curtie into a Curtsicle." He could see that Ash's powers were keeping him nice and toasty. Curtis didn't have that luxury. "So Crystal can make things get cold. That's cool, pun intended." Curtis managed to get that out between chattering teeth. He took a long drink of his latte, hoping it would warm him up. It didn't work, it had already gone cold. "Now that you've shown us your trick it looks like we are all square. I'm gonna head back outside before I freeze to death. You two can continue to chat it up if you want to. Curtis lowered the tiles barring the door as he made his way past Crystal. He stepped back into the cafe, closing the door behind him. The metal doorknob stuck to his hand for a moment. It was getting REALLY cold in there. The cafe hadn't gotten any busier in their absence, but the barista shot him a dirty look none the less. He returned it with a smile and a wave, he was to preoccupied to care about her. Curtis and Ash weren't alone in all this superpowered madness. It also proved that it wasn't genetic, as Crystal wasn't related to the twins in any way. However it wasn't all good news, it just raised more questions. How many more people like them were out there? How did they get their powers? Now that Crystal knew about the twins and the twins knew about her would she continue to serve Curtis his favorite coffee drinks? All these questions buzzed around Curtis's head when something caught his eye. Fog was beginning to seep out from under the backroom door.
