Injae Park
"I can make so many Mario jokes about this place," said Ratchet. "The name simply begs for Mario jokes." Ratchet spun around on her roller blades, waiting for her cousin and younger brother to catch up. Not everybody had power over kinetic energy like she did. "Come on! Gotta go fast, Sanic speed!" Ratchet urged. "We don't all have wheels like you do," Winston, her brother, whined. "Maybe if you didn't spend so much time on the PC you'd be in a bit more shape to keep up!" Ratchet teased. "Shut up!" Winston protested. Ratchet turned around and continued on her way. She pushed some hair out of her face with her wheel-hand, before looking back to check on the other two. Ratchet felt that her summer vacation was off to a good start. She always loved seeing her aunt and her cousin Kate. On top of that, Kate offers an actual challenge when playing Mario Kart (Winston is only good at MMOs). Ratchet turned to the left and stopped at the edge, leaning on the metal railing and placing her elbows upon the cold steel. She waited for her sibling and cousin again. She wondered if she should get them their own pairs of roller blades. "So, how was your spring semester?" Kate asked, finally catching up to Ratchet. "Pretty good, actually; I think I aced my AP tests, and I'm confident about most of my finals. Don't ask," Ratchet replied. "Other than that, I got the field show music; I got a pretty cool solo part on trumpet." "Is it hard playing trumpet with one hand?" "Not really," Ratchet said, pushing off the rail and slowing her pace to match Kate's. "I know how to bend my pitch so that intonation doesn't get too out of hand." "Oh my God. Injae, I will slap you." Ratchet laughed. "I wasn't made section leader of the marching band trumpets for no reason," she continued. She changed into an elevated, ridiculously pompous faux-British tone. "Huh-huh, that maketh me the best trumpeter in yon marching ensemble." Kate laughed. "And how's your brother?" "He's gitten gud at League," Ratchet replied. "I think he's working on using Katalina or whatever her name is." "Katarina," Winston said indignantly. "I don't mispronounce any Nintendo characters, do I?" "But there are so many chamPokémon that aren't relevant in the current meta," Ratchet replied. "I remember Ledian," Winston muttered. "I remember all your characters' names." "Okay, name ever Xenoblade character in the game," Ratchet declared, folding her arms. (She herself probably couldn't, but that didn't matter.) "Shulk, Fiora... Um, Ri...ki...? Metalface?" "I'm sure there are more," Kate pointed out. "You always side with her," Winston whined, pouting.
