I'll be getting to the subject of women. The short answer is though, they're not on equal footing with men. How much of a disadvantage they're at, I haven't decided yet, but I want them to appear fragile, submissive and meek. 

The Prince brought his soldiers with him, he hasn't suffered so many losses as to warrant replenishment. So, they're from elsewhere in the country, and not sympathetic to the city's inhabitants.
