Not sure. That's up to [@Gowi] but I would be okay with it as long as you were trying to be THE military house of Skavia. Plus the Vynts raid us all the time so your troops could gain experience just from defending our shores. Not sure the average house would do that but the house that strives to be the big time soldier producer would make sense.
I've kind of planned that House av Snaggasson has two warchiefs under their command with men that serve as the Duke's personal retinue. Tormund av Snaggasson, the last Duke's brother also maintains a host of warriors called the Hundred Names, who are people that House av Snaggasson sends to Vyntarland and brings back when they're seasoned and have "earned their names" so to speak, or earned their titles in combat. Their house is also known for a type of troop called the Blackthegn, which are basically Viking Navy Seals. They coat themselves and their weapons in black or dark brown paint, row down a river or creep through the forest to sneak into camps and wreak havoc.
The Northmen do have allies on the coast of Vyntarland: There are two or three strongholds in this territory called The Rift, and Skavia would probably be eager to send men to aid in the defense against their feral cousins. Pretty malleable. As for "recalling them" I'm sure that said Keepers of the Rift would be not thrilled about sending men home but The Rift is not The Wall, it is not a sentence for life if so willed. Surprised that the Vyntic raiders actually went around the guards and keeprs of The Rift and invaded Skavia come to think about it.

Well, that's quite a lot of territory for two or three strongholds to cover and guard. Plus I'm certain King Crach wouldn't mind it if some Vyntic raiders sailed around Skavia and attacked Erayis or Stormtir. (Not saying they are anything like my wonderful king but...) Perhaps they were even involved in that war somehow.
If that's the case, House av Snaggasson could have sworn their allegiance to Skavia and quickly become the military house loyal to the King of Skavia himself and not beholden to a backwater collection of outposts manned by the King of Perhyr's cousin but instead within his own borders. Perhaps during the raiding season where House av Snaggasson sends the untested warriors to Vyntarland, before they come back, they let Vororborg ask any of them if they want to stay and swear themselves to the Keepers. That way, the keepers have a sort of tax of men that keeps the keepers stocked with hearty warriors, but also lets House av Snaggasson still be supplied with rough men at the Duke and the King's beck and call for those times when the Vyntics raid along their coasts.
