[*]- Set in an alternate-earth 500 years after the Kalosi Incident, now remembered as the Cataclysm. [*]- Roleplay starts south of modern-day Mannheim, Germany and will focus on exploring the ruins of the old world. [*]- Traditional Pokemon "moves" are forbidden. Consider the capabilities of your Pokemon and apply those skills creatively. Feel free to draw insight from established movesets, but remember: it's magic now. [*]- Magic is a form of mysticism, linked to theology, and is tied to class, rank, and education. It's meant to be limited. Make sure you understand how it's treated before you use it. Please post your character sheet in the Character Sheet Tab.
In Character Info
Slouched on the eastern inward bank on a lazy sluggish bend of the Rhine, Schwarzenburg - the black castle - once stood as the lonely gatekeeper of the East. It was her stalwart defiance that kept the Moeri war machine from spilling over the Rhine. The day the castle fell, the Kingdom of Sabi was swallowed up by Moere, her ruler slain and his histories burned. The region was given over by King Veske to the burgeoning administration of Duke Sakana, whose command was instrumental in the capture of the region, and whom has in the year since settled well into the administration of this land. Just a few miles north of the castle lie the ancient ruins of a city called Mannheim. It stood for more than a thousand years before the Cataclysm, and it was another hundred years of struggle before the last light of the city was snuffed out forever. Even the Sabi had never ventured near these ruins; they mark the edge of Civilization - a point beyond which even the mighty hand of Moere cannot quite reach. Beyond Mannheim, to the East and to the North, lies a vast and uncharted wilderness. Now, as Sabi loyalists have been pushed into that uncharted wilderness beyond, reports are beginning to filter back of strange occurrences at Mannheim and beyond. Ethereal lights and impossible things - whispers of treasures from the old world... will you be the first to learn the truth?
Out of Character Info
Hey folks! This is a Pokemon roleplay set in an alternate-earth environment about 500 years after the events of Pokemon X/Y. In our timeline, the Kalosi weapon was successfully activated - but for reasons lost to time, it misfired, and fell short of its potential. The event marked the beginning of the end for human civilization, and in time pokemon rose to fill the void - coming together and building like the humans had done before them. Pokemon civilization has borrowed much from human history, and has followed a similar curve of development - today we rest at a decidedly medieval era, replete with petting kings and castles and classical engines of war. Modern-era (and beyond) technology is studied, and recorded, but such information is largely kept away from the uneducated masses. Currently, the premier power in Europe is the Kingdom of Moere [More-uh]. To the west of the Rhine, clans and kingdoms jostle for position. East of the Rhine, however, lie the untamed wilds and tribal peoples with a reputation for violence. It's said that the further one travels beyond the Rhine, the more savage the world becomes - it is for this reason that, despite its heavy handed politics, Moere is sometimes hailed as the warden of the civilized world: it dominates much of the Rhineland west of the border and is now slowly pushing its borders into the wilderness.
Magic in this world is a very personal thing. Its study is shrouded in mysticism and religion and politics - they're inseparable. But in the end, magic is a process of self discovery. Magic is to harness the power of the soul and manifest one's will into the world. What this means varies wildly from pokemon to pokemon, but it remains similar within classifications and obeys a number of natural laws, whose nature we have yet to completely understand... [cont.]

Festland: Kingdom of Moere: The martial powerhouse of Europse, ruled by King Veske. Cantara: Spanish-speaking nation occupying the coast of the Iberian Peninsula with a few remote island colonies in the Mediterranean. Possibly the wealthiest of the nations, but has demonstrated a preference to avoid violent conflict. Aelvail: An expanding agricultural kingdom that dominates southern Italy. It's famed for its cultivation of exotic flora and for its nearly unparalleled advances in pre-cataclysm archaeology. Unrest has blossomed in the wake of King Ivan's untimely death and the subsequent disappearance of his youngest son Erion. Despite the conspicuous circumstances, the crown prince and eldest son Vincent has ascended to the throne. Meerland Belgatta: An english-speaking naval power contending for control of the British Isles. Known to be tenacious and belligerent, but poor in resources. Wilde Länder
