Facepalm XD That never crossed my mind. I agree with ulsterwarrior, if players can handle more than one character more power to them. I for one can't. I'm afraid I won't do the one I already have justice and end up biting of more than I can chew. Something else crossed my mind earlier. Are we always going to be in the same place at the same time? Probably not, so we'll be interacting with the players that are close to our own characters, waiting for the story to progress and allow us to meet others. Like a set of characters who remain together for a period of time until the formation changes. I haven been in roleplays where I barely interacted with some of the characters and that was a real shame. Also I was thinking about pre established relationships between characters for as much as that is possible. The Black Shields is a new unit but the members that join may have some history together right? I see a couple of characters have ties to Coedwin, a location Floure has visited often. Laurence for example served as a guard there, it's possible she knows him.
